A horsefly.Shot with:
Canon 1000D,
Reversed Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS at 18mm & f/13,
Nikon SB-16 with a piece of paper to diffuse the light,
and a bit of sunlight.

yeah, if you take your lens and hold it to your camera the wrong way round, you can focus really close and achieve rather great magnification

As far as i know nikon cameras prevent you from shooting without a lens, canon cameras don't care though, so it works x)
Maybe it depends on some setting of your camera, or you have to try some kind of lens adapter, but it's worth it
