I would like to preface this one by apologizing if my critiques seem a little lacking, you wrote out quite a thought out and well worded one for me and perhaps mine have been a little too small. The problem is unlike the critique setting this doesn't have any minimum word limit, so I will try and do a more well worded one for this piece.
I am further impressed by your anatomical mastery, and the combat poses are particularly inspiring. You seem to have a dab hand at it all which is a feat within itself and the hands and feet are often where some people can lose it but you've done them magnificently. I admit I am impressed by all the pieces you brought to my attention, thank you and thank you for critiquing my work.

Really nice work! You've done an excellent job capturing the movement in each figure. I'm most impressed with the one in the bottom left corner. :]

Very expressive poses. I don't see a lot to gripe about given that these are sketches. For what they are, I'd say you have sketching down. Are any of these more complete?

Thank you! Nope, I did not make any of these more complete, this was just meant for a really quick gesture drawing practice, although if I were being honest some of these took a little longer than the supposed time limit I have not done a "complete" drawing in a while, sadly.

I used to draw without reference unless I really needed one, but now I think I draw much better with references than without! Β

That's funny, I also thought drawing without a reference made me a better artist! I guess we now know better!

Ok first of all, you are way stronger than me at gestures. Β But that really doesnt matter when it comes to a crit. Β I like your poses but i did notice something when gesture drawing (i got this from a guide) they usually dont always draw out the whole anatomy and anatomy isn't really a concern most of the time. Β I'm not saying to ignore it im just saying they try to minimize pencil strokes and capture the gesture using S curves instead. Β I hope that was helpul? Β THey say that if you build anatomy at the same time or before the jesture you really limit what the gesture can do. Β It creates pictures taht don't pop. Β From the look of how you practice though im certain you went to art school and know this already.

Yes of course, even if you feel like I'm stronger in gestures, you may certainly still point out my mistakes and give crits! And yeah you are absolutely right that gesture drawings should capture the pose using minimal pencil strokes and use S curves. When I look at the pros do it, that's how they are. It's something I'm working on, as I still struggle with doing these, especially 30 second gestures. Btw I did not go to art school, but I have been watching videos online on how to do gestures and practicing almost daily so it has helped me tremendously.

I really admire what you're doing. This is the best damn practice you can do, it gives you a great boost in your skills. Have you seen the posemaniacs.com? They have this really nice pose generator with a timer! Very convenient!
Keep up the good work!

Thank you, I feel that this practice has made me improve so much. I've seen it but have not used it before for practice. That sounds useful, maybe I'll use it for my next practice!

What a dynamic variety of poses. I like the ninja one, but I can't see her other foot.
That's a real cool site, I might end up using it.
