Facebook | Tumblr | ArtStation | My Website | Buy Prints Share on TumblrI thought I would share some of my planning designs for MemoirduLune , a roleplaying group that myself and wispywaffle are currently working on. Feel free to give it a browse, but we're still very in the process of creating it so much of the information is incomplete and messy.
These aren't the final designs, just some ideas I wanted to draw out. The elementals are made up of elements from the environment around them, and my idea was for them to be mostly made of changeable compounds (such as water, fire, ect), so that each one could be unique, but still recognizable.
I haven't been able to come up with a name for the last one (ice/snow elemental) so if you have any suggestions I would love to hear them!
edit: My Nymph design is not a pokemon, but thank you to the many people who pointed out the likeness. It's based off of an older character that I designed before the pokemon black and white series was released, but with the addition of a dress I can see the resemblance. I don't keep up to date with all of the pokemon, since there is far too many of them, so I'd never heard of Liligant before people pointed it out.

No, Elementals are some of the creatures that inhabit the world that the group takes place in. c: On the group's front page in the navigation box the is a page marked 'Essences', that will be where you can find the different types of characters that people joining the group can make.
The last one is a snow/ice elemental and we decided to call them Jötunn. The elementals can have different forms, qualities, shapes ect, this particular one is just a concept that I came up with, I based it on frigid wind and ice crystals as opposed to snow.

The last one could be an Agloolik. An Agloolik is a spirit in Inuit mythology that lives underneath the ice and aids fisherman/ hunters.

In Japenese philosophy there's another element called Jin, or Metal.

The last one looks more like ether to me (according to Aristotle, the 5th element along fire, water, air and earth). I think it would be a revenant.

What is a sylph? Is it really an already existing creature? Because I named a species of my Ocs like that and I did not know if the word was already used by something...

Yes they are, you probably heard it before a remembered it when naming your characters. Sylphs are a western mythological air spirit, you can read the wiki article here [link] if you're interested in learning more about them, or just google sylphs. c:

Canada is pretty westernised, as well as super multicultural, and the French word for Sylph is Sylphe. I'm Italian and I'm fluent in French, I don't really think ethnicity and spoken language have much to do with exposure to different things. xD However there's lots of concepts that are new to me as well.
I'm glad you find it interesting, I love learning about the mythologies and religions of different cultures.

wwhwwoa i love her hair that's like raindrops! her shape kind of reminds of the cloth doll thing that... i don't remember which culture puts outside to make it rain? i'm not sure if you know of it XD ;;; regardless, such a cute design ;.; ;.; i find it interesting that it's teal and not blue, too, and the star accessory; it reminds me of more of the natural oceans and stuff than what people usually think of when they think of rain

I went with teal for the rain maker to give it a murky look like the ocean where they're from instead of a clearer blue from a pond or stream.
I wasn't aware of the rainmaker doll, but that is really interesting. I'll definitely have to look into that some more, thank you for telling me about it.
Ahaa the group is proving to be so much fun to make! Wispy and I both love story telling, creating worlds and designing stuff so making a roleplaying universe was right up our alley! ;u; We've been working on it for like...4 or 5 months now I think.

I had no idea how to write or make characters but I tried it and then I met wispy there xD It is also a coincidence, we didn't actually realise that MeLu (Which stands for MemoirduLune) would also be taken as MesLua Dx We noticed that afterwards. Also that Icon is just a joke thingy I made, it's pretty much just my head with octopus tentacle hair because my hair used to be really really long...we wont actually be using it for the group ;V;
