Description Cleaned up a linetest from my animation class. In the task we had to make a floursack show three emotions . Wanted it to look cleaner then just linetest if it should be good enough for showreel material.

Very nice and fluid animation you got there! To me, when it comes to animation, I'am a total sucker at it unless the characters are sprite sized (anything less than 256x256/128x128 pixels) and its nowhere as fluid as yours.

Does every animation school have to do this project? Seems fun

hmm... not actually no, each school has different way of doing things. in fact the most commen way is that students does a movie for each of their 3 school years. Our classes was different though, we had 3-5 exercises for each year. In our final semester we finally got our first movie project

hmm... i think the most useful for preparing for college is art classes. there you will draw a lot and even study useful things like anatomy, perspective etc. useful things for your college portfolio (i think most colleges for animation today requiers a portfolio of your greatest works for getting in...)

I did also take a one year study program for animation for getting into the basics first.

I noticed there's a lot of these flour sack videos when art students have animation projects. I always find them very amusing to watch! And this is definitely one of the best.

It's very difficult to have something with a rather simple body and no face be expressive like that. You did a great job here! One can see exactly what's going on even though there's no words spoken. The sack's determination is very cute, and the way he's so proud of himself after this jump made me smile.

Sounds like you'd rather be elsewhere. Did you have talent before going there?

Well... i have studied there for three years and and for getting to this level im now is only been hard work on my own. The only thing the school has helped me with is keeping up my motivation through good grades Grades helps me work harder and gives me somehow a answer that im doing something right. I only whishd that my teachers were more professional. They are acting like our classes is some kind of a hobby thing.

Same here! I've been at my school for 3 years as well. It took me this long to finally get where I am as well and I'm happy with my work for once but still striving to get better. The instructors at my school helped me a great deal, especially Mr. Catizone, who taught me practically all I know. That's awful! I hope they take it seriously soon.

Okay...you succeeded very nicely. And, don't take this the wrong way...it reminded me a lot of the "old school" Winnie the Pooh animations that Disney did (the old classic ones not the new crap).

And if you can succeed in giving something like a "floursack" emotions and turn into a character that people will like after less than a minute of animation...you're pretty damn good.

But then again...that's just my opinion.
