While I dislike the use of gauzy light, which draws attention to itself in a cliche way, this portrait is lovely... thanks to the model.

Gauzy light does not make a photograph. Gauzy light is done by design. And in film and theatre and TV, directors and writers and actors rapidly learn that light designers are problematic... and the moment they used the word "mood" one should spell it backwards to find out what designers provide. That said, I remain impressed with "black bird."
