Sigh.... back to photoshop line art..... for now, at least. Manga Studio will rise again.... if vista lets me install it!

So this is Rollanratl, first boss from Wario Land Shake it, which is a wonderful looking game, by the way. Old rolly gave me more trouble than I had bargained for.... I expected to have this done in a night or so, but simple things like shading the main color ended up taking HOURS. Part of the difficulty lay in drawing something you only see head on, but at a dynamic angle. There was a lot of "inventing" to do with this, and thus, a lot more work. I added the cracks on his base to make for some balance; to make the area feel less "blank", since its not a part of the character you would normally see.

The ceiling cause me quite a bit of anxiety. These pictures have to be drawn with a white site layout in mind, so I can't make full backgrounds. Rollanratl wouldn't make any sense without it, so the picture had to be approached carefully. It looks pretty good on Mario Monsters, but I still hope nobody looks at this thinking he's hefting a large, rocky baguette of some sort.
