Oh my goodness, this is my first serious digital drawing I have done. And by serious, I mean a picture I actually put my time and effort into. I wanted to start getting used to digital drawing and boy, I love it! The fish picture ([link] ) was a quick sketch and I didn't pay a lot of attention to what I was doing. It was like scribble scribble... this looks great! scribble scribble... woah, what did I do? I like it!

A tip that others may find interesting: Draw what you love and what you're good at. I tried to picture myself a great digital artist and attempted to draw perfect humans or something so epic and professional. But it's not my area of experience (yet) so I started off with a fashion sketch. I love drawing fashion sketches as a pastime hobby. I just had a small idea to make a dress with a big and puffy skirt in blue and brown. From there, I added many more details and it turned out to be a winter dress. Soft, fluffy material on the chest, sparkly sleeves like snowflakes, a big skirt with many layers of shiny fabric over lapping each other and a long pencil skirt underneath the dress. A thick, elastic belt with a small hat decorated with small beads and warm and fuzzy shoes. It's not of my best sketches, but as a starter, I am extremely proud of the result.

I especially love the shine on the blue skirt and the detailed sleeves. Adding highlights and shadows was a lot of blending with low opacity, and a lot of patience. This might be my style, but I will adjust for different themes and materials. Winter clothes are usually soft, warm and inviting and that is what I aimed to show in this sketch.

Note: I realize that her body is not realistic/proportional/ correct/ etc but when I make fashion sketches such as this one, the body is not my biggest concern. I try my best to make it accurate to make it look somewhat human, but time is wasted when layers of clothes cover the skin and reveal little of the body. So I just quickly sketch the body and focus on the clothes. After all, it is the focus point of the entire sketch.
