I was thinking about Sans’s poison effect (KR), and one theory is that KR is directly fueled and/or connected to your evil deeds, so the KR is turned on by all your murdering. If that’s the case though, that means Sans’s threat during your date in a neutral/pacifist run is a little toothless, because if you haven’t been murdering anyone, he’s only going to do one damage. Though he may still have the INV-skip to make up for it, haha. While it’d fit thematically for him to only be dangerous (or for you to make him dangerous) on a murder run, I think that the KARMA mentioned in his battle is in a more figurative or metaphorical sense than literal and KR/INV-skip is just something he always has actually probably exactly what it says... see Further thoughts on KR for details.Edit - Check out this animated version!

In my opinion, Karmic Retribution is just the 'poison' effect Sans has. It does not impact his fighting abilities, it's just that some monsters have special abilities, such as Undyne's ability to go past death and using the Green Soul ability. Or how Papyrus can use the light blue attacks to maximum potential. Or how Ghost Monsters can combine with inanimate objects.

Yes, but without said ability he can only do one damage. As the game says. "The easiest enemy. Can only deal one damage."
Karma is his ability. However his fighting without it is very weak.

Oh...my...GOD! IT ALL MAKES SENSE!! *read your Thoughts on KR* I never knew about the Karma thing going around and actually reading- it just all makes sense i'm so mind blown! Now I see why you made Sans actually weak in atk too in the Handplates series. I was confused cause I thought he was the strongest but now I understand it all. Stats and his atk. omg this just makes me think of the future for Handplates on how he is going to figure this out!! AHHHHH

if he removed the invencibility frames. frisk would have died.
since it's 30FPS sans would have dealt 30 damage/sec. killing frisk who have 20HP.

That is, if that bone had stuck to Frisk's face instead of just bouncing off their face, thus touching it for like 1 millisecond or something. So it probably wouldn't have done a lot of damage anyway.

Huh. Makes sense. I always thought KARMA just worked on how you acted, so on the True Pacifist Run it might’ve healed you.
