Okay, now this is something I really like. I'm always in favor of taking an idea everyone else is using one way and giving it a new twist. I've been toying around with the concept of amorphous creatures and even people in my flintlock fantasy setting (collectively called "Amorphs" for the time being) and this is definitely more in line with my thinking. I'm not sure what to call a sapient Amorph, though. "Changeling" was what I was going with originally, but then I found out that the term was used in Star Trek: Deep Space 9 for a shape changing, fluid alien species, so now I'm not so certain if that's the way to go or not. Regardless, a Changeling would be capable of doing something along the lines of the character in your picture. Indeed, it's the reason that other races in my setting are so mistrusting of them - some Changelings have worked as assassins, and very effective ones at that, so people tend to equate "Changeling" with "hitman." And, like this character, they are very difficult to hurt. All Amorphs have a solid (but very spongy) core that acts as their brain, heart, and stomach. Only damaging the core will kill them, but they're careful to avoid letting that happen. Stabbing a Changeling is just going to get your weapon taken away from you. I'm still not sure what their main weaknesses would be, though. They need to have some sort of vulnerability that people can exploit, or they'll be too overpowered.
Anyway, sorry for the rant, but your picture has inspired me way more than most of the other Slimes I've seen here on Deviant Art. She's really cute! Great job!

And from the looks of it..... yeah someone was stupid enough to strike her, striking a slime with a blade? Might as well try moving water with the sword, its not going to go over well.
