Three monkeys on a routine-mission, and a temple-knight-like-creature who can't hurts by ki, and if you kill it, it's multiplies...So here's the 3-sec story in nutshell: Raditz attacked the knight, in vain, Vegeta tried to save him, in vain, both of them knocked out at the same time - and the scouters too. The energy of the knight killed the sensors, and it shows zero. So Nappa thought they're dead, they just died in 3 sec, and he just can't believe what he just saw, and think he's the very last saiyan alive and he just... just can't really... handle the situation...
You know, when you tought Nappa gone mad against Goku, or you watch the Broly-movies, or the 'you hit my bulma" scene and think wow, this is epic, well, you're wrong, and you just don't know anything about anger.
Or Nappa.
You don't want to see him angry.
