Hey turds (term of endearment)!Here's some more early development art from No Zombies Allowed! [link]
When Big Menace Industries was first brought on to develop the look for NZA the main design challenge was creating zombies that are unique, cute, and fun. In the last development sheet (below) I show our first stab at it (Pun!) and this is about 3 more passes down the line. We had our general shape and just needed to determine our final treatment. We thought it would be cool if the zombies were always lit from behind, and the survivors from the front, but we didn't quite know the tech Booyah had. So, our various treatments have hard and soft shadows, colorized and uncolorized shadows, and light gradients or no light gradients.
This was the birth of the NZA Zombie!

Neat to see all this background stuff (and you sharing it is why I went and snagged the game in the first place). Man can that game eat up time. I just wish they'd polish up some of the art / text on the iPad version (some elements are nice and crisp, some are . . . not). I suspect it's just a scaling issue, but seeing muddy text on the nice hi-res title screen it's really hard to miss.
