Description This would be my first emote I ever made, so don't be too mean. I didn't use any tutorials or resources apart from just using a dA emote to get the size correct. I made it entirely with GIMP.

I know this is an emote that `Synfull can appreciate probably the most since this brings two of her interests into one.

I guess most of the inspiration came when I watched a bit of =Kyramy drawing Toothless and Hiccup . I had interest in doing something like this before, but I guess just watching someone else drawing got the cogs in my head turning.

This is not my usual style of artwork, but it didn't seem the least bit awkward to me. I mean, I have done pixel art before, but that was years ago.

Bah! Anyhoo... Enjoy!

I saw your comment on `Synfull 's poll and remembered your name from Join.me, so when I saw you'd made your first emote, I had to come see it!
The first thing I notice is that the emote, although a gorgeous shade of purple (), looks quite flat, because you've only used 3 or so colours in the base. There're some amazing shading tutorials out there - try checking #Emotication - and if you don't want to use those, looking at other emoticonist's base packs to see how they shade and then developing your own is a great way to come up with shading. (That's how I came up with mine.)
As =pixiepot said, the majority of people use a very dark shade of the emote colour for outlines and expressions as it brings the whole emote together better than black, which often looks quite stark in comparison. But this is a personal preference, and because of the animation of the cube, I didn't really notice the black until I saw her comment
I really like the shuffling, and altogether, for a first emote (especially with little to no reference), it's pretty damn awesome
I'm honoured that you took inspiration from my pixelling, and I can't wait to see what you do next! Welcome to the community!

Yeah, I will check out those tutorials and try different things with the shading and lines. Thanks, this helps me a lot!

I may do a Join.me sometime. I didn't know about that site until I saw you using it. I hope I wasn't a pest when you were sharing; I tend to throw tips around trying to be helpful but usually end up just annoying people.

Oh yeah, I forgot to congratulate you on your DD! Congrats!

Also, thanks for the devWatch!

Awesome job! I think, in order to improve, you should make the frame and facial expressions a darker shade of the colour your emoticon is. Up to you.

Thanks! I will play around with that on my next emote.
