Description

Thunder roared across the valley, Horus was trying to move his band out of the hills before rain came crashing down. Unfortunately the herd was too late. Almost instantly rain began pouring down on them, causing the soft dirt under their feet to turn to thick mud.

“Horus! Over here!” Reaper called out as he spotted a cave for them to hunker down in for the night. Horus nudged the rest of the herd to go first before he heard a small squeal in the distance. He wanted to ignore it but the sound was all too similar to a foal in distress. He let out a heavy sigh and called his herd to go on without him. As horus ran through the storm he spotted a white colt stuck in the mud. He trotted over to the foal and looked around.

“Where’s your herd!?” Horus yelled over the wind and rain.

“I don't got one!” The foal replied as he struggled in the mud, “Please! Just hurry!” Horus grabbed onto a tuff of the foal's mane and began to pull the colt out of the mud. Horus looked up to see another horse running at them. Before he could react the other stallion charged into him. Setting the colt free and sending Horus down into the mud. The colt took off running from the stallion.

“No! Why did you help him?! He was mine! Little brat stole from land!” The other stallion yelled, turning his aggression towards horus.

“He’s just a boy! Come on now, don't be picking fights when the weather is like this!” Horus stood up and then jumped back as the stallion charged at him. The two began to fight with each other biting and pawing as their coats soon became caked in the mud. As the two were fighting the dirt and mud from the hills began tumbling down on them to cause a flood of mud to pool around them. Horus with one quick shoulder check knocked the other stallion off balance sending him into the mud.

“Now I suggest you be on your way. Don’t let me catch you around here again.” Horus hissed before leaving the stallion behind and running off to find his herd. Getting stuck on the way he pulled his way through the mud before he heard his band call to him from the cave. He used the last of his strength to make it into the dry cave and laid down on the cold ground panting. Horus looked up to see the same colt cowering in the corner of the cave. With a sigh and a chuckle Horus looked at the colt and said,”Welcome to the family..”
