Mendalisse- The Mendalisse were the first species of Maeji’Nse, those created after the Day of *, to ever be created. Beneath the Madiun Sea lies their kingdom, of the same name. They were the first species to only honor a woman on the throne. They built grand places on the seafloor and cities of magnificent color and marble. They were the prototype Quara used to evolve the four other Maeji’Nse; the Aralune, Naiathan, Neldius and the fish men. Such an honor gives them a great sense of pride that their Mother was so pleased with their creation. So it was undertaken by them to set precedent for the younger tribes. Under the rule of Queen As’Leia’d’Yragn, the third queen of Madiun, scholars and nobles alike were dispatched as envoys to the outer tribes to teach and to understand different ways of life. Years later, upon their return, a summit was held with rulers of the other tribes and the Osyan Treaty was drafted and signed, dividing the ocean into five countries in efforts to maintain peace and diplomacy beneath the waters.

Their lifespan is between 85 and 100 years. Their bodies are half-man, half-fish, with the tail from the torso down. Measured from head to fin their average height is about 7’5 to 8 feet. Their scales shimmer in colors from azure to emerald with hints of purples and even gold. They are very protective of their kingdom and the waters of Erandur in general and will defend both to the death. Relations with other aquatic species are frequent and great measure is taken to ensure their future.

In order to better understand the symbols in their dreams and those of others, many embark on a pilgrimage seeking knowledge of other lands and peoples. If one pursues such a path, then at the time of eternal sleep, they will break the cycle of Fennlor and reach paradise in Elthuywn’Mira. Those who fail to find their spiritual path will be reborn into a new life until the cycle is broken. It was rumored that there were once Runics capable of entering a dream-like mirror of Erandur through the mastery of the runes.
