It's better you chose this way instead of whining. It's a very nice picture which I add to my group

You have a great gallery of locomotives and city transport vehicles. I would also like to take shots of steam locomotives, but there is no way to do this in Ukraine. They all have been replaced with diesel and electric locomotives. There are only few in Ukraine, standing as museum exhibits. All the rest were cut to scrap metal. In some of the locomotives, the fire tubes were taken out and used in utility boilers. It's a shame for Ukraine and the government! I went to the town of Liubotin (25 km from Kharkiv), which has a big rail depot, hoping to shoot two old and rusty steam locomotives, which I saw there in the early 90s'. The workers told me that I missed my chance - they were cut up. I watched on TV how old steam locomotives are used in the U.S.A. and Australia to haul tourist travel trains in scenic places. That's a good and wise investment for the public benefit. I wish you the best in your artistic endeavors.

Thank you very much! It's sad to see how historic trains are treated at times. Sure, the ones in this picture have survived, but there are many others types that are completely extinct these days here in Germany.

Yes, absolutely. It's very practical: When I want to take pictures of something, I just have to convince him to come along with me. Since he gets all his petrol for free from his company, going anywhere, no matter how far, is always free then.
