This is it; for now at least. This buffer stop shortly behind the platform of Alsdorf Poststraße marks the current end of the line for this branch of the Euregiobahn network.

As you can see, this is not a natural end for the line. There are kilometers of track behind the buffer stop, some in good shape already, some not so much. This end of the line is only temporary. EVS, the company that owns the tracks here, is working hard to rebuild the rest of the line, to Stolberg, completing a circle line Stolberg-Aachen-Herzogenrath-Alsdorf-Stolberg. Given how interesting this area isn't, I guess the opening of this circle line will be the next time I come here.
