Look out, I tend to ramble on these things.

In January I was still using Photoshop as my primary means of producing digital art, which meant I was kind of experimenting with gifs. That particular image also exists in gif form which you can see here if you're so inclined: ilovemybbs.tumblr.com/pâ&…;
In February Photoshop started giving me grief so I started experimenting with SAI but I had NO IDEA how to use it so everything looked kind of gross for a while. This is the month Claire was created, so it's represented by a picture of her. Yay!
In March I was drawing a lot of Rail and Aubrey and Devin, mostly focusing on like group pictures and comics. Anything expressive that showed character relationships and interactions. It was good practice and it was really fun to rehaul old characters.
April is when Anton and Faulks were created. I don't remember a whole lot about what was going on then. Just a lot of OC stuff.
Xander was created in May, and other than that I don't remember much about that month either, but it's fun to note how different he looked then from how he looks now.
In June I was working a lot and I would draw in a tiny sketchbook during my lunch break so I kind of got a little into traditional again out of sheer necessity and did a little bit of traditional inking paired with digital coloring. I should actually do some of that again, it looks pretty good.
I literally remember NOTHING about my art in July. That particular drawing is of Layne who I hadn't drawn in a while. I'm also pretty sure at this point I switched over to using SAI exclusively.
In August I was in school again and thanks to my figure drawing class, I started trying to do poses again. Nothing too exciting was happening though.
September was kind of a low point in terms of creative output because everything I was making for school was kind of crappy and I didn't have time to draw personal stuff. I drew Faulks a lot. In this particular picture, you can see the influence of my History of Illustration class because I drew Faulks looking like a Pre-Raphaelite painting.
Once I got used to the pace of school, I started making stuff that I liked again, and October was full of experimentation. That drawing was especially exciting for me because I've always struggled with expressiveness, and not only is it expressive, but it's a stylistic departure from what I was doing before which was starting to feel stagnant.
November was also pretty awesome, and my comfort with SAI had reached a point that I felt comfortable using it as a medium to do my assignments in.
I'm only 12 days into December, but so far it's also been pretty awesome. I've been drawing Xander a lot, but the piece I'm currently most excited about is my Hunter x Hunter fanart because it turned out pretty much exactly how I wanted it to in terms of expressiveness and pose and likeness.

And that's that! After looking at all this old stuff, it makes me really want to go back and draw some older OCs again and do some more little comics and stuff.
