Here's an unpopular opinion for ya:
In my personal opinion i find Peridot from Steven Universe VERY overrated.

Yes! I said it!
I mean, there's this ginormous amount of fanart, fanfics, videos, memes, people with profile pictures of her, rule 34, etc.
I once searched on Googleimages the word Peridot and 99 % of the pictures were of the character Peridot and the other 1 % left was about the actual mineral. I think she's more popular than Steven himself.
Hell, there's even a porn parody video of her made by Zonetan! (don't ask me how i know).
There's just so much hype to her and i'm just standing there like "what?"

Now, do i hate Peridot? No. Not really. Actually it's quite the opposite:
As a character herself, she's fine. She's a character that's pretty entertaining in a lot of moments, her character developement is neat and i even liked the episode wich was basically The Roadrunner and The Coyote.
Do i like her? Yes, yes i do, but i don't like her that much to the point that the only thing i do 24/7 is make dank memes about her and ship her with Lapis, Amethyst or whoever.

One of the reasons i heard of why she's so popular is that Rebecca Sugar made Peridot as a reference to Invador Zim, and since a lot of people watched Invader Zim, they felled in love with her.
But here's the thing about me:
I never watched Invader Zim as a kid or at least remember to do so. So i guess her "nostalgic powers" don't affect me in the slightest.

So those were my thoughts on the Peridot hype. I'm sorry but i had to take that off my chest. If you, yes you, the one reading this longass description, like Peridot, ship Lapidot or whatever related to Peridot, that is perfectly and completely fine, more power to you. Nobody is forcing you to agree with me on this. In fact, i'm actually happy that you appreciate something that i don't. And if you do agree with me that is fine too, at least it makes me happy that i'm not completely alone in this world.
But remember, this is MY OPINION, emphasis on MY and OPINION. You have to remember that these are my thoughts and not yours. You can't make me change them for what they are and you must respect them with all sincerity as well as i respect yours. And no, i'm not disabling the comments on this one because i like to hear what people think of my work. But if you do have something to say about my thoughts and it is disrespectful, don't say anything at all, or at least do so but in a way that's not offensive.
Because remember the old saying:
"If you want to say something but it's not good, then don't bother opening your mouth".

Btw, for those wondering, yes that's me. It's first time that i draw myself on this page. I got a haircut a 2 weeks ago and that is how it looks right now.
