Description

A former Drill Abbot turned Acolyte for the Inquisitor, the Hierophant differs from his peers as he openly mingles with the regular troops of the 334th, drinking and joking around a campfire or foxhole like a fellow soldier. This is due to the Hierophant's past as a Imperial Guard veteran, further breaking down tensions between himself and the Fellhounds troopers. However, the Hierophant's friendly nature belies a secretive mission.

Tasked with observing the regiment's spiritual health, the man serves as a confidant for many in the Guard, unlike other ministorum preachers directly attached to the regiment he provides an open ear to those who wish to air out their doubts and fears that would see them judged and prosecuted when heard by their peers, he provides those who come to him down-to-earth advice and wisdom that has been earned from hundreds of battles and corralling children.

While this seems benificial to those who come to the Hierophant and leave with their humours balanced and spirits healed, the man himself makes notes of every single person who comes to him in secret. It is through Hierophant's balancing his teachings of faith and cold wartime pragmatism that categorises for the Inquisitor the ones that need to be eliminated when a purge has to be done to cleanse the regiment of corruption.

This isn't an entirely heartless task as the priest will submit other solutions, for those who only need to face the proper training and challenges to conquer their weaknesses and those who need to be observed and organised into more sermons to reinforce their beliefs, it is ultimately his responsibility to choose who derserves death or redemption. It is through this confession process that the Hierophant also finds whose who have the strength in mind, body and soul that would allow them to flourish in the Inquisition's purview, effectively scouting for acolyte candidates or stormtrooper material.

Hierophant is also older than he seems if he is to be believed, claiming to have been there both for the Lord Commissar's education and the Inquisitor's own graduation from the Schola Progenium. What is proven fact is that through him the Fellhound's Colonel was broken down and built up become to the strong leader he needs to be to face the Imperium's enemies. Now as a member of the Inquisitor's retinue, he works alongside the Colonel in organising the training of the regiment, even performing the drills alongside the troops to prove that all one needs is the grit to endure the grueling lessons that willl save them out in the field.

It is in the battlefield that the Hierophant feels the most alive. Wielding a burning staff on one hand and a chainsword on the other, with a set of knives for backup it is in the frantic action of close quarters combat that the man feels fulfilment. Singing hymns or chanting battle cants without pause through an open vox channel, typically set to the speakers of 334th's vehicles, Hierophant fights as he inspires the regiment to greater fervour. His zealotry is infectious as nearby soldiers flock towards the Hierophant, forming an unstoppable horde that smashes through enemy lines and crushes them underfoot.

(Updated: Gotta make a Priest extra hype if he's going to be an Inquisition Acolyte. These are all done with parts and pieces from HB Token Builder.)
