I know it was my only option... it saved so many lives... But i live with this reminder. This reminder to my foolishness. How my skills can be used against us...Is it possible to regret the right choice?
(heh, i never explore how much he regrets what he had to do... his arm and eye are his most defining feature and he feels so ashamed by it... it's just a little insight to his head)

i love how much you go into detail with your character, so refreshing to read a characters back story with such depth

unusual... up till age 5 he seemed normal... but that was because nobody looked at the books he was reading. Reading Stephen hawking to a child before he's born seems to have a remarkable effect.
he was home-taught by his parents, both infected by a deadly plague that was slowly killing off the planet (10% of the population remain).
they were both highly intelligent. they used to boast his whole familly line was all above and beyond the last as they go.
Zededd (early nickname) had no friends. he didn't get on with kids because he WAS smarter than them, played more complex games and thought circles around them all. when his parents eventually died, Zededd was given a HUGE inheiritance and thrust upon public shcooling at the age of fifteen... he spent one year failing everything because he wasn't interested and was sent to college to brush up
short version: loved, cared for, safe, lonley. He was very much aware of his parents slow decay and death, they hid nothing from him once he figured it out. they all said their goodbyes and Zed has done his greiving.

not to detract from the emotion of this scene but I'd imagine the whole constantly surrounded by lovely ladies thing has got to help him deal with with his situation

knowing that he is host to a unique pathogen which seems to have random and inconcourrent effects on people he spends a great deal of time around them tends to put a dampener on things... worse still that he knows that if he gets close to someone, that he might open up and that he will ruin everything he has made himself appear as.
that, and he knows deep down that he REALY wants to go ape and screw every woman he works with... and if he did so, he would have lost a battle against his labido.
he always wanted to be a one-woman guy... but he can't have just one woman so he has none

yep. he does... even though it's easier for him to re-clone the limbs... but he can't let himself... he NEEDS this reminder... he needs to remember how evil the world is and how he needs to be vigilant...
he actually goes a step further, he gets several Zed-ling drones. all perfect clones of him. all remote-controlled

There's always that nagging though of "Why am i doing this?"

oh, he knos why he is doing it... he regrets why he did it in the past... it's more a regret of a good time he knew when he was the best and nobody could match him. now, he's the best, and everyone wants to use it for their own gain...
he has to fight his superiors (secret controllers of the whole planet) to not make weapons and killing machines

Perhaps he could make a simple agreement with one of my OC's by the name of Draxdew. Draxdew, although he cannot lie, like me understands his plight. But be warned. Cheles like him have been proven to show only one change since creation: fading away when killed. Don't worry the agreement will likely be a simple small payment.

luckilly, Zed gets over it... after he is neurologically hacked, turned into a megalomanic, narcisistic monster who tries to take over the world and has to mentally re-take his own brain... he comes back a better man... two of them but eventually gets around to fixing that and lives an... extended good life where he is true to himself and his desires
