"I'll fight Ashfur."
Rootspring's ears flattened as he spotted the bloody, shaking she-cat in the corner. Were those tears in her eyes? The dark forest she-cat rose slowly to her feet. "I'll fight Ashfur," she repeated.
"You won't go to StarClan," Rootspring reminded her. She shook her head.
"I don't WANT to go to StarClan," she snarled, "I want to stay here. In the dark and the humidity. I don't want to go to StarClan." Rootspring's heart ached for the tearful she-cat. It seemed she was carrying a lot of weight in those enormous paws. She shook out her pelt and smiled, looking tired. "Besides, I don't really think Ashfur's too cute anymore."

A vent piece because shock of all shocks my mom yelled at me again. She told me she's gonna stop paying for my therapy which is cool cuz before he died my dad said he would always make sure my mental health was paid for. SO GREAT. Anyway I'm reading Light in the Mist and my depressed she-cat is willing to throw her hat into the ring so she doesn't have to see her mother in StarClan. Better being in hell.
