"True to art, not politics"
These are my sentiments as well, although I do take part in the politics forum I could do quite well without it!

I have waited for a month to reply on this journal again. I think the servers are getting better (no doubt the load has decreased due to lack of usage) but I cannot see the attitude of dA changing. Maybe they are thinking people are just gonna forget it and start using the way dA is right now. Other than that, I can now access dA without continuously seeing server errors.
Also, cannot say for sure if hackers were behind it at all since now the site is getting faster just because the submissions and requests are not like they used to be.

They have also limited the amount of images that show up when you go to 'add media' on a comment - if you go to DeviantArt, no matter which folder you choose, only 32 of the most recent will show.

They seemed to have reversed the change with 32 images showing, the whole folder will now show when you want to add media to a comment. I doubt they are going to reverse the changes to groups though and the momentum against the change seems to have died off so, I agree, DA won't change it's attitude.

Thanks for clearing up some things ...I've been away from DA for a while.....
didn't know it was due to server issues......That makes a lot of scene..
I hope they fix what needs to be done and not close this site

Good points. Poor communication from DA to its members does not help.

Thank you friend. Yeah, dA should come out and talk about its problems and issues openly with its community. This is the only way they can win back people's trust again...

I actually haven't seen people who said that will leave dA after this "update" , yet I experienced by myself the consequences, really bad and obstructing the work of an admin: we at PixelChallenges have a policy, when we make a challenge journal with Inspiration artworks, we request all those mentions artworks to group's gallery. Yet I could only request 1/3 of them, then i had to switch accounts to request them from our Donation accounts, and then I had to leave out some of them anyway. I just don't have time to go back and forth everyday to do so, not including the fact that I usually request a cool pixel art piece to this group's gallery when I see one randomly, which I can't do now because I "spent my requests" on usual group's work.
I do remember that I saw somewhere that it's a bug actually - sorry I don't remember the source - so hopefully everything will go back to "normal".
By the way, the update messed up completely all the privileges we have set for the members, admins and folders, and this took us quite a bit of nerves and were confusing to our members as well (and the smooth work between our folders and members is most important at this group, since that's why they join the challenge).

Hi Jenny.
I agree with your points but what I am saying is that dA cannot afford to have all of its functions working like they did. They are having severe server issues which they are unable to sort out. I am saying to wait because I am hopeful they can find a way to get this site running in full speed and with all the functions and features which we like in dA.

I haven't been on DA a lot lately, but this answers some questions.
As to why some artists are just abandoning the ship. Some of them say they'll come back but sadly, I never see from them again.
