Description An OLD, OLD, OLD OLDOLDOLD drawing I did for an art class. The original is about 5x5 inches. I can't remember the assignment exactly, but I ended up doing this ceramic figurine with a crumpled dollar bill. The instruction was also to do a very "tight" (detailed) pencil rendering, which I tried to do. And I did it with crosshatching or straight pencil strokes, NO BLENDING. (This is another example of pencil rendering using no blending. I've got a recurring theme going here!)

I drew from life. The figurine was a gift from relatives who owned a china shop, given to our family years ago. I don't know where it is now, but this drawing brings back good memories of all the gifts of fine china that we got from these relatives!

This is really lovely, and I love the no-blending style. She reminds me slightly of Marilyn Monroe .

Thanks! And any resemblance to Marilyn Monroe is purely coincidental!

The no blending style is very nice, it looks rough, visually. I really like the strong contrast and full value. From dark dark dark to bright lights on the face of the china. Nailed it.
