Hey I love your work, and am definitely favoriting this (i just took up screen printing and am noodling around with soft scrub ^_^) but that vinegar bath your using is pretty toxic. Try peroxide to neutralize the bleach, the vinegar+bleach combo makes lovely chlorine gas.

My attempt on text was a failure, might I ask what kind of brushes you use?

Anything small and made of nylon; make sure your brushes are synthetic, because the bleach will eat them otherwise. It helps if your brushes are pretty dry, too; try stiffening them with a little glue, that helps me when I'm having problems.

Yea I had that problem occur on the hoodie in my gallery.
The bristles all melted so I wound up using the ends of them instead.
Then again I spent 1.50 on a set of brushes.
So synthetic eh, righto probably just get that at an art store right?
I was told to try using Horse Hair brushes, but I didn't wanna waste my money.
The glue idea is brilliant, never even thought about that.
I thought about using chop sticks as a way to apply it but I feared it wouldn't have the same stroke feel.
Could definitely help keep things cleaner.

If there's a JoAnn's or a Hobby Lobby near you, go get some nylon brushes. Don't use anything organic; the horse hair ones will just break off. Nylon brushes are really cheap too, so it won't hurt you there ^^ I've done the glue thing a few times and it always seems to help ^^ Also, the shirts you are painting on could have somewhat to do with it. Make sure your shirts are COMPLETELY dry, not just mostly. If there is any moisture on them whatsoever the bleach will run. So dry shirt, synthetic brushes, and patience XD

I've noticed on the last hoodie I started to work on it went grey.
I'm assuming it's the bleach+fabric.
But I do remembering spilling ash into the bleach I was using, but I doubt that's why it went grey.
Have you experienced the grey before?
Any specific bleach you use?
I've been using fibre friendly cheap cheap bleach, it worked on the bones hoodie so I guess bleach doesn't really matter just the fabric.
I also haven't done a t-shirt I'm assuming it bleeds straight through probably pretty easy.
I'll probably have to put something between them if I try it.

I always use generic bleach; the watery it is the better because the gel type ones tend to run. And the difference in colors is from different fiber blends and the processing they use on the shirts/hoodies/ect. Some brands bleach grey, some yellow.

cool designs! but isnt it bad to mix bleach & vinegar? yes vinegar neutralizes the bleach, but it creates noxious gas too... which is bad for ur lungs...
