I've seen a very interesting post on tumblr about Amon's finger position when he takes peoples bending, which is different from the one Aang learned (which are supposed to be the "true" one) so I think there may be some hope about the people he took bending from

Plus if Korra activates the Avatar state Amon will be in some serious shit xD
