Hey look, it's that picture I've been talking about for ages.This is something I've been working on for quite a long time, but on and off. I've been absurdly busy, and I've been doing more sewing than drawing when I do get free hours, so it sat on my harddrive unfinished for quite a while. But anyways, I finally finished it!
This is really for , who is my RusGer muse and my best internet buddy. <3
Oh, and they're supposed to be under a streetlight. I didn't do a background, but I shaded it with that in mind. I hope it comes across at least a little.

Just one thing, I think Germany's collar bones are up too high, so his neck looks a bit short.
I like the light source though. It looks like you got the shading in all the right spots, something I still suck at.

Like I always say, sometimes you just need a second pair of eyes.
I really like it. You'll definitely get a lot better with lighting as you try more complicated things.
Something interesting I learned is that shadows take on a bit of the light's complimentary colour. If you use a yellowish light, like a street lamp or a regular light bulb, you'll have a purplish shadow. It's not super visible, but by adding the slightest tint, it can really help the picture out.

Yeah, I can definitely see you're improvement.
The journey of an artist is a long one. But that's all the fun! And the thing is that I've noticed with a lot of good artists is that they're never satisfied and always look to improve. It's really interesting to listen to these people that you think have awesome skills rant on about how they just can't get 'x' right.

Yeah, I've noticed that, too. And then when you look you can kind of see it, too, so I guess it makes their level seem more attainable. Or something like that.

It does. And then when you get there, you get to complain too!
I mean, that's the greatest part, I think, about being an artist. There's always room for improvement, so there's always something to do. It's like a really good video game that you can play continuously and never get bored, but always get a higher score.

Oh god I'm so excited!!!! You did such a great job. I was worried Ludwig's outfit would look girly but it looks great. I love his shoes SO MUCH. And I don't know why but I think my favorite detail is Russia's medal. They are shaded great and I am super please with how this turned out. And I see the street lamp thing going even without a background.

I've been excited to finish it just because I knew you'd like it. >w< You should know that I can draw manly guys in dresses by now. xDD The shoes I had a bit of trouble with, so I'm glad they turned out well. The shading, especially on the wings, took me forever. X_X I do enjoy it, but it ended up being way more of a high-effort piece than I thought it would be. I was worried about the street-light thing, too. >_<

Welllll I'm glad it was high-effort. II< Because it means it is more efficient for me to masturbate to, which excites me. And the wings look like they'd take forever. I especially like the darker color your decided to use for them, because I think white would look weird now that I look it over. xD You always manage to pick colors I approve of even though I don't realize I approve of them. I totally thought it'd be white and in my brain it looked good, but now they look way better than I had anticipated.

xDDDDD That is exciting. The wings were the hardest part and half the reason I procrastinated so much. xDD I googled the national bird of Germany, and Google told me it was the black eagle. So theoretically, those are black eagle wings. I feel like white would be too much light colours on the outside of the image, anyways. It would mess up the focus.
