First off the composition, lighting & color choices catch my attention. You choose them very wisely. The contrast really stands out, I love that in art, it's very pleasing to the eye. How you managed mist really pulls the pictures together, without it it wouldn't be as mysterious & magical to look at. I really enjoy the mood you created with this piece, very strong emotional effect, leaves me wanting more.
The only thing I am not sure about is the hairstyle & hair jewels. They are interesting but I wonder if they kind of take away from the vision. Maybe chose one or the other to focus on? Great model by the way, I'd love to see more from this shoot!

I really like this piece; this is something that I could view for an hour. Besides being aesthetically pleasing to look at, there is much going on beneath the surface. The refinement of the woman’s clothing, hair, and adornments seem to suggest sovereignty to me, as in the blues and violets that pepper the work. Her expression is slight and meditative as if she’s remembering something or someone precious, perhaps lost. Very subtly sensual, though the flood of orange in the marigolds trailing down and down tells us more about what's going on within than her expression will admit. The wisps’ of cloud give it all a dream-like quality, as if perhaps the entire scene is something that only exists within her. Maybe I’m reading too much into it, but this is what the piece communicates to me. Brava - I wouldn’t change a thing about it!

Now, this is a picture! Excuse me while I critique this.
Vision: There's a lot of flowers in this photo and the model's dressed to kill, clearly. Also, this has a ton of quality, and that's more than good. Four and-a-half stars.
Originality: I haven't seen anyone try to make something quite like this yet, although I can imagine there are people out there with that idea in mind. Four and-a-half stars.
Technique: Like most of the photos I have critiqued, it's right place, right time, and it's just the right amount of both. Four and-a-half stars.
Impact: I gotta tell you, I'm spellbound by this. Not only does it have a beautiful touch to it, but it also has a hint of sexy. Four and-a-half stars.

Nearly every other shot I've seen with this degree of texture and color complexity has parsed to me as overly busy - even ones with an equivalent strong framing, solid expression, and artistry. Here, however, the colors used and the smoke element blend everything together well - and the placement of the color elements draws the eye through the shot in a very comfortable manner.
This has the feel of an antique tapestry, and does something I'd have considered impossible outside of the occasional impressionist painting until I saw it - and it's using elements I've seen used imperfectly a hundred times over in other photographs.
As such, both in terms of execution and impact, this is a lovely work - and positively nails a look I'd have sworn was impossible five minutes before seeing it.

Overall, the image is simply outstanding. The color choices are excellent; I love the way that the rich golden yellow compliments the deep blue, how the stark white plays against her flushed skin tones. Even texturally, this is a really strong piece; the way the soft white of the mist and the petals on her dress contrast with the tight ruffles on the marigolds is really very nice. The only thing that is taking me out of the image is the jewelry on her hair-line. They are the only non-organic thing in the image, and as such they draw un-necessary attention to themselves. Unless, of course, the photo is an advertisement for a Jeweler-- then I'd say Bravo, job well done! But as it is now, I look at the piece and wonder why she has earrings clipped into the hair on her forehead. It's just a bit too distracting, and I think it must be because they really are the only thin in the image with true geometry; hard edges and angles, and the only thing that isn't organic.

Hi! Thanks for the critique. Regarding the jewelry, I can see why you find it out of place, I'd explain a little bit of my decision if it helps -- part of the reason it's placed there is because of how bare the model's face was compared to textures everywhere else in the image, it was in a way a means to balance the details. The other part was that Motherland Chronicles takes bits and pieces of inspirations from Russia. The kolts/temple jewelry is part of its 13th century fashion and I'd wanted to pay some homage (or you could see it as an Easter egg) in reference to the land of the Rus.

This is a amazing work of art i love the background it makes it look very magical.
like it was almost painted! the blue flowers a beautiful with the dress and the braids with the clips are so pretty this is truly amazing the make-up is also very simple not too over the top just your photos just amazes me i just love it when people make these photos..it still makes me believe about the beauty in this world
And the background just aw's me every time , it's like shes somewhere in her own little dreamland keep up the good work! I hope you make more like this!

The model's expression is beautifully emotive, and I think the impact of the image could be increased by directing the viewer's eye more towards her face. As it is, my attention immediately zooms to her forehead, which is very bright. Perhaps wearing a crown or a dark flower headband, or slightly altering the lighting would take the focus off of her forehead. I'd like to see the image cropped slightly tighter on the top and the left side for balance and to eliminate some of the brightest fog, and then greater separation between the model and the background would defocus the fog and the background flowers. The earrings dangling from her temples are very interesting, although again, they seem to draw attention away from her expression so the impact is lessened. All that said, it is a very well crafted and creative image!

Truly you've mastered your craft. This has the feel of an oil painting at first glance. I think it's seriously magnificent and awesome to see that for some artists there's no cap on the level of progress they'll make in their lives and I'm glad I've been able to witness your evolution.
