Description My first attempt in Photojournalism. I read a book about Robert Doisneau, and i was so fascinated about his pictures of ordinary people in ordinary situations. it was another time back then (around second world war), but still there must be a way to express the same things with nowadays pictures. so i just grabbed my cam and went out 400 shots, nothing, then after 600 shots i finally got one i found interesting and good enough to share, so here it is.

i don't wanna say much about it, just gain the feeling of the picture (if there is one for you, for me there is one
picture was taking while being out with *inextremo .

i'm really anxious about your comments, thanks in advance as always

Wow, that's insanely awesome. I mean, o_0 they are all right near each other, but all of them seem to be in their own little world. Very nice capture, I think black and white works extremely well for this! <3

amazing contrast. the three guys in the window are dozzing off while the guy in front is full of anticipation and excitement. almost like the three inside have no worries, while the one outside is waiting for his wishes to come true.

This is an awesome photo. I agree that pictures should be more about things that are either unappreciated in every day life or that pictures should be the capturing of an unstaged moment. i don't mind staged photo's, but this is my favourite kind.

Great job. The reflections in the window add to the picture in an almost unexpected way, and the way the kid is looking up makes it seem more...I don't know, right. The composition, slanted, is lovely, and I love black and white Photos.

Great job. I don't normally favourite photos I comment on, but this is an exception. +Fav

this might sound dumb... but.. do you not feel awkward standing there taking pictures of random people? i mean.. wouldn't they notice you? do you ask them for permission before/after? i like pictures of people doing daily things but it seems hard to get a picture of someone without them feeling like they're being stalked.

Zendar In reply to c4rina [2004-11-14 17:29:40 +0000 UTC]

well, i just take the pic while walking by with having the cam in my hand hanging down. So they never realize that there was a picture taken. Everybody looks at the cam, but as long as it's just hanging down, nobody expects a picture is being taken I hate confrontations, and this works very well.
if you're interested, take a look at a group i founded about this : ~ streetshots

This picture is awesome! I love the expression on all of their faces, especially the boy on the curb. They are all within their own worlds, even though they are with eachother. Crazy angle, I really like it because you have to give the picture a double take. Black and white suites it very well!

It takes a sharp eye and perfect timing to be able to capture the perfect essence of a scene, especially when you include people. And shooting "from the hip" is also a very difficult technique because obviously you are shooting blind...adding yet another variable making such a perfect picture possible. Though this isn't a perfect shot, it is a successful one. The composition and the timing are quite good. The group of three men on one side of the glass all with their eyes closed and their heads resting on their hands greatly contrast the guy on the outside of the glass who is looking upwards. And yet they are all the same...all probably with their minds detatched from their current setting.

Love this shot, and to me it seems as if you've captured the utter boredom
of everyday urban life, either waiting for some bus, the tram, the meal
at the restaurant, or the date that is late (again!)... all the time wishing you
were somehwere else.

Do you think it makes up for the 600 shots to get to it?

Loved the variation and feel in the rest of your gallery too, I'll keep an eye
out for you.

this turned out really well. enough though the boy has no relation to the subjects behind him they all seem to tie together. your title of the piece really helps it to all come together and flow. i think the way it is framed and at the angle you took the shot is awesome, tilt and all.
