About: Riley is sort of a tomboy in that she hates the more typical female things like shopping and dressing up, make-up, etc. She has never worn make-up in her life and absolutely hates dresses, though she might wear a necklace now and then. She prefers to wear simple and comfortable clothes, kapris and jeans, t-shirts and tanktops, and wears her sandals all through the year until it snows, and then starts wearing them again as soon as it melts even when most people would probably think it too cold for sandals. She also wears her long, fingerless gloves at pretty much all times, no matter how hot it gets. She regularly dies her hair, thinking it's amusing to match her digimon.

Riley really doesn’t like sports, though she doesn’t mind ‘watching’ a certain few if it means hanging out with friends. This doesn’t mean she isn’t active, she loves riding her bike, swimming, hiking, or otherwise just going for a nice long walk, but organized team sports just aren’t her thing especially as she’s sort of something of a loner. She has friends, but as of so far none she would call good friends and certainly no best friends. She prefers to spend her time artistically; writing, drawing, painting, and sculpting are all things she enjoys and is good at. She’s been told she has a fair singing voice, but she only ever uses it to sing along to songs she knows. As she’s almost always listening to music, that happens to be a lot. She's also big into nature and the environment, she loves animals and being outdoors.

She’s incredibly unorganized and actually kind of likes to get dirty, whether it be with mud, dust, paint, clay, or something else. It makes being clean feel that much better. However, being unorganized does not mean she can never find anything. Her room may be a mess but she knows where everything is within that mess, or almost everything anyway. Keeping to a schedule is a great difficulty for her and she is more often than not, at least five to ten minutes late to everything.

She has an aloof and apathetic attitude most of the time and is incredibly sarcastic. She isn’t afraid to throw a punch if you get her angry. There’s a part of her that wants friends, but a more dominant part says its better without them because they can’t hurt her or leave her if she doesn’t have any. She has Zenzemon and feels like that’s enough for her. She IS social, she likes to talk and laugh and have fun with others, she just doesn’t like letting them get close to her.

She has a soft spot for younger kids though and she’s always nice to them and maybe a little protective. She would have been a good big sister if her step-mother would have let her be one. If anyone has a shot at getting close to her it’s a younger child. Otherwise Zenzemon is the only one that’s close to her, and they are VERY close. It would be a rare sight indeed to see one without the other far behind. They are protective of each other and she talks to Zenzemon about everything.

History: Riley was born in Mexico, though she hardly remembers her time there. Her mother, Adriana, had met her father, Steven, when he was in Mexico on vacation. The two had a short romance before he returned to the states, leaving her his information ‘in case she was ever in his area’. Nine months later she was born and lived happily, if modestly, with her mother until she was around three years old. Adriana was diagnosed with cancer then, but they’d caught it too late, the young mother had but six months to live at best.

Her mother sold nearly everything they owned and immediately travelled to the states to find Riley’s father. His town was not a large one and though he did not live in the same place that he had when he’d given Adriana his information, the locals easily pointed her in the right direction. When she showed up on his doorstep with little Riley a woman answered. The woman turned out to be his wife, the two had been married for nearly a year and a half now.

Steven’s wife, Cheryll, was incredibly displeased with the whole situation, even after Adriana had explained that she was dying. The couple had been trying to get pregnant for almost as long as they’d been married without any luck, only adding to her resentment for this other woman and her child. Adriana begged Steven and Cheryll both to take Riley in, otherwise she would be sent to some orphanage or be left on the streets. She was his daughter too, she’d never been with another man after him Cheryll insisted upon a DNA test though she wasn’t at all pleased when the results proved Adriana’s words true. She certainly had Steven’s eyes, exactly the same shade of bright blue.

Steven had promised that if the DNA test did indeed prove him the father then he couldn’t leave his own daughter to an unknown fate, nor her mother, which made Cheryll even angrier, though she seethed in silence afraid he would call her heartless and leave her if she voiced her anger. Steven allowed Adriana to stay with them until she died and came to care for Riley in that time. Cheryll would hardly look at her and did her best to stay away from her. The only thing Riley can remember of her mother these days is that she would sing her to sleep every night and she had a beautiful voice.

Life went on after her mother’s death, she was too young to understand too much of what had happened to her mother, but she did love her father, so it wasn’t quite as bad without her as it could have been. Cheryll made it clear that she would not have anything to do with her, however. Steven and Cheryll’s relationship became rather strained until after Riley had started kindergarten. She was nearly six when Cheryll finally got pregnant. Something about it seemed to renew their love for each other and Steven even regretted taking Riley in and causing the strain in the first place.

She turned six and some months later her baby brother was born. Steven was even more thrilled about having a son and Riley was pushed aside. Steven had not been a bad father before but now he hardly paid her any more attention than Cheryll did. They fed her, bought her clothes and school supplies, and Steven would still buy her a present for her birthday and Christmas, but other than that she was left to her own devices most of the time. Cheryll wouldn’t even let her play with her brother.

Her eleventh birthday came around, and even her father forgot about it, or maybe didn’t care. She spent the night crying herself to sleep and trying to remember her mother’s face. She must have cared about her if she sang her to sleep every night. The next morning when she woke up, Zenzemon was there, sleeping in her arms, though she could never have said how the little digimon got there. At first she thought maybe it was a stuffed animal her father had gotten her for her birthday, he’d remembered and gotten her something after all, but then its eyes opened and it talked to her.

She kept Zenzemon hidden from her ‘family’ for a long time, though finally Cheryll had lost something, a necklace or a ring, and blamed Riley. She said the girl must have stolen it and started tearing her room apart looking for it, finding Zenzemon instead. When she screamed at her asking where she’d stolen Zenzemon from, thinking she was a stuffed animal, Zenzemon hit her with a Shadow Bubble in defense of her partner. Cheryll screamed and ran from the room, going quite hysterically to her father. After a little research Steven found out what Zenzemon was and also found out about the Digimon organizations in Japan.

Cheryll suggested they send Riley off to this Digimon place, relieved to finally have a good reason to send her away. Her father agreed for less malicious reasons, but needless to say she was soon on a plane to Japan with a couple of her most important possessions and Zenzemon. She was about 12 and a half at the time. She has been happier with the Astra and the Lune, and even the Sol, organizations than she can ever really remember being with her father and his family.

Digimon Partner: She will not hesitate to attack anyone who seems to her to be a threat to Riley, even if they really aren’t, which has often gotten them both into trouble and pushed a lot of people away. She’s extremely overprotective of Riley, though since it’s the only real love Riley has received since her mother dies she doesn’t even care that it’s kept her from making friends. Zenzemon is all she feels she really needs because Zenzemon will never abandon her or ignore her.

Overall she is an incredibly quiet digimon, she almost never speaks in presence of anyone but Riley, but will at times speak soft words of encouragement to her partner. As Zenzemon she is incredibly affectionate with Riley and enjoys being held and cuddled. As Zenamon she is a great deal less cuddly but still refuses to stray far from Riley’s side. In battle she is determined and persistent, she will not give up a fight unless directly ordered by Riley to do so.

Bites the opponent with fangs ablaze with fire.

Her whole body becomes ablaze with black fire and she charges and rams into the opponent at high speeds.
Shadow Twister
Howls and calls down a destructive black tornado of wind and shadow.
Dark Fury
When severely wounded, Dark Fury is used whether she wants to use it or not and it cannot be used at any other time. Her eyes turn completely black and she seems to grow slightly, become more muscled. The bonds on her wrists and tail shatter, releasing a hidden reserve of power. She then attacks the opponent without mercy and will not stop until she either destroys them or she comes close enough to death to revert back to her fresh stage. Despite being severely wounded before usage of Dark Fury, she can feel no pain in this berserk state until she becomes close to death, at which point she will automatically revert back to her fresh stage. Even Riley's commands cannot get through to her in this state.
