I'm not an expert on poodles, but I think the stereotypical poodle haircut usually includes a puff of curly hair on the top of the head, too. Maybe making her hair curly, to match the ears, would be more satisfying to you? It's your creation, and your stuff is always awesome, but I thought I'd put that out there for your consideration.
