This is just too perfect.
Do you plan on drawing more of these two?

I'd love to do more. It's just my drive that's my problem. Sometimes it's really hard to get me drawing anything.
But if something hits me and I'm REALLY wanting to draw it, I'll try my best to.

Oh thank you!!
It's one of my favs, omg. I could listen to "Happy Ending" and "1001 Lifetimes" on repeat over and over and over.

Oh me too! They really outdid themselves with the songs in this play. I went and bought the album right away. ;D

Omg, same. The songs are perfect, and I'm so happy they got as much as they did through that Kickstarter campaign.
Seriously, as long as they are willing to make a show, people are willing to shove money at them to make it. LoL

I like how you modeled him after the actor's features, but made him brown. Your version is so rounded and pleasant. : D I like your rendition of Scheherzade, and I like the visual levels with him looking up at her and her looking down on him while he holds her in his arms. I love the shading and lighting on his robes and the translucent look of Scheherezade's sash. Excellent work! ^^

I wanted to keep his skin tone as correct as I could, considering it's based in the Middle East. I figured it was the proper thing to do. LoL.
And thank you, I really had fun drawing her cause it was nice to have a clothing design already given to me (that's my hardest to come up with); and seeing that I wanted to draw her in a Disney princess style, it was a lot easier than working from nothing. Haha!
Her sash was a happy accident. I accidentally filled it in a special layer, and I liked it...and then I went with it. LoL!
All around, thank you so much! I love that you pointed out specific things you like, it makes me feel even better about my work and certain things I should keep in mind for future stuff.

: D Yeah, clothes are hard to draw, much less come up with. She does have a nice design. : D Yeah, she's kind of reminiscent of Esmeralda, if you don't mind me saying so. ^^
Ooh, that's a good accident. : D How many layers did you use in all for the drawing?
My pleasure! ^^ I'm glad I was able to give encouragement! ^^

Hahahahah. I lost count. I would do a rough layer, then I make different layers for each area during the outline (one for the hair, another for the body, another for some clothes) to make sure that--in case of mess ups--I don't accidentally erase a bunch of lines I'm happy with. Especially if lines crossver, like fabric over fabric.
Then I merge them into a permanent outline.
And then coloring will just vary on how I feel like doing it. Do I want to focus on one character at a time and use masking layers, or do I want to just do areas (clothing, skin, etc) at a time and shadow on masking layers. Sooooo...all in all...a BUNCH of layers. LoL.
Throughout the years, I'm always finding out different tricks to use to color, so i"m always trying different things.

Ooh got it, that sounds like a ton of layers. Oo : D That sounds like it took a lot of time and effort! : D
Ooh, now what are masking layers?
That's good you're always finding out new techniques to use. : D Thanks for your explanation. ^^

The best way to explain is by linking you to a tutorial. Which...I have to find...
Lemme see if I can find it.
