This is me waking at in the middle of the night, mulling some memories and thinking about the future. It mentions "NS", an abbreviation of "National Service", where all young men from my country Singapore are required to enlist in the army for 2 and a half years. It's quite scary to most of us, unescapable entrance into a world of military training and danger...

I'm uncertain of what it might hold for me in the army. All young men get their lives disrupted after their tertiery studies to have their aspiring identities, be it artist, designer, programmer, accountant, anything, to don a green uniform and hold a gun.
