This should be interesting. If you have questions about Ivy's fairly....odd powers, feel free to ask away.
Something tells me this 3-way dance will be anything but graceful. XD

Thanks! I figured that if Krythin got an upgrade, Ivy should too. It would only be fair...that and she'd probably whine subtly.Β

Thanks. it is not the quantity though, quality counts.
Take "AGONY" as an example. Her nerves are wracked with pain and when she touches someone else - she is relieved of the pain... by making another suffer. As she is more than willing to inflict pain on others, she is most certainly a villain.
If Agony and Ivy were to fight:
1. would Agony's pain inflicting power even affect Ivy nervous system?
2. Agony was designed to "Get close", "grapple", and "cripple a hero with pain."
3. If agony's powers do not affect IVY: that will be one short fight. Ivy would win.
4. if Her powers do work on IVY: Ivy still has chance to fight back.

Ivy can nullify her sense of pain completely by simply not allowing the "message" to travel all the way to her brain, so if she didn't want to feel Agony's agony, well, she wouldn't. She can control her own nerves as well as she can control someone else's. Due to the instances where she would fight in Deviant arenas for cash, she has a little battle experience under her belt as well, although her eye and messed-up shoulder are two permanent injuries she sustained. "Deviants" or those people with mutant powers were seen as less than human in society and therefore they had no problems with how old the fighters were.
Synapse was made to be a little more under-powered but still useful in some instances. I guess if she fought Agony she would be a little more useful than normal? She is also the room mate of my other main hero, Nitemare/Krythin who is pretty much her opposite and also more powerful. Loud-mouthed and spunky and with a lot less self-control, she is slowly breaking Synapse out of her rather thick anti-social shell. Although she's more powerful than Ivy, her powers emerged only about two years ago so she has control issues. On the other hand, Ivy had her powers ever since she was born and she finds herself trying to help her room mate with her control as well as her self-control. That has also been a slow process seeing as Krythin likes to run off and try to be a do-gooder, saving the world and all that other hero stuff. Unlike Ivy, death is but a phantom to her and she hasn't quite realized the fact that she could die. (She will get there eventually. For now she remains a rather amusing train wreck waiting to happen.)

Β Agony wouldn't be able to affect IVY - which would surprise agony a great deal.Β
the question is now - would agony's chronic pain cease when in contact with IVY?
I think so, as the pain aura discharges with contact.
Even so, this is no solution for Agony.
Ivy won't be a permanent addition to Agony's personal space.
I doubt that a few strands of Ivy's threads could alleviate Agony's pain.Β
Agony looses this battle.
thank you for the story, Ivy is very interesting.

When Ivy is controlling someone else, their senses do go numb, but no she wouldn't stick around someone just to dull their pain.
Agony might lose this battle, but if she brought friends Ivy would be in trouble. She doesn't do well against multiple combatants.
You're welcome. Sorry if I ramble a bit; I have had these OCs for years so they are very dear to me.

Can she tie a foe up with her "Strings"? does she have to touch someone or can her "strings" be shot at a target?
she seems morally ambiguous: is she a hero, or a villain?

Zephyr-Aryn In reply to psiandco [2014-08-25 23:15:18 +0000 UTC]
I guess she could tie someone up by making then twirl around and get entangled in them. She has to touch someone because she essentially hacks into their nervous system through touch in order to control their movements. She is a hero. She is growing out of her "me first" ways now that she has people there to help guide and care for her.

Cool, I suspect that she is a bit like a knife. Handy for when you need it - potentially harmful when you do not.

You can say that. She cannot stand fighting robots, seeing as they are non-organic and therefore have no nerves. She's pretty good at thinking outside the box, though, but she isn't above underhanded tactics or fleeing if it means living. She isn't a respectful "battle maniac" that will toss sense aside and fight with honor to the bitter end...she's a survivalist.

Nice to have some unique character for while. Puppeteering is rare power (for my knowledge) and touch requirement is nice touch and the visible strands even better.
