I was thinking about this a little, this part here, this scene. And I was like, "this is a little bit out of Sans's character. He's usually pretty calm, collected and such, but in my comic he's always one step away from crumbling." And I know I've had this conversation with others before, and it is a FANTASTIC point!

But also, I have a reason and an answer! XDD This Sans, DeeperDown Sans, is a Sans run down and worn by hundreds, maybe even thousands of resets, and not all of them good. And what good ones there were, were ripped away from him. This timeline though was different. Chara made no appearance. The humans wouldn't let them in the city. There was an odd 'sickness'. This Being appeared. This is all NEW. He doesn't know what to expect. And with every step forward that Sans gains some semblance of hope, it's been crushed in the next faltering step. THAT's why this Sans is so emotional. He's literally hanging on to hope, to sanity, to life - by a thread.

And now, Frisk is missing. Missing and Forgotten. And he's...well. He's not taking that too well. Because without Frisk there IS no happy ending. Not even a chance for one. And what's left of his hope is being torn right out of his hands. Again. Maybe permanently.

Man. I'd be freaking out too.

(let me also take this moment to reassure, as i have all along, that this story does have a happy ending) <3
