Guess which one of the two will end up with nightmares...
Picture based on a number of things. One being that I absolutely LOVE these two as kids and had to draw them in my own style.
Another is a memory from when I was very young: My mom had taken me and my siblings to a local library after school to find a movie for that night. After digging through many uninteresting films we came across a movie with 'cute bunnies' on the front. My mom was like, "awwwwww, this looks good! Cute little bunnies so cute." . . . Uh huh.
We went home, my mom set up the movie and then left us kids to watch it while she took a nap.
Guys. GUYS. The movie was an animated movie... I had nightmares for MONTHS. It stands, to this day, one of the most disturbing things I have ever watched. XD My poor mom felt so bad!
Stan and Ford though, are watching an old black and white monster film called "THEM!" Not scary at all to people of our time, but back then? At their youthful age? Well. Kid's have wild imaginations.
The film is very faintly reflected in Ford's glasses. ^^

Water ship down, the now renown ruiner of childhoods is your culprit. Fortunately my parents realized their mistake very quickly, but those first few minutes are burned into my memory...

Yay "Them!" That's one of the movies I watched as a kid! My dad had a bunch of old monster movies and he'd let me watch ALL of them! I was definitely Stan as a kid.
I didn't get to see the old Watership Down until I hit my thirties (though I'd heard about it way back as a kid). And you're right. That movie is very disturbing, even as an adult. The new one on Netflix, however? Not so much. Still not appropriate for children of course.

I'm interested. I got WARPED by Watership Down, man! D: Then I also watched Plague Dogs (same author and production team). I like to find analysis/opinions on them to kind of validate how they affected me as a kid. Like facing down my demons (even though they were GREAT films and I love them, I still gotta say they should've been PG-13 or R instead of PG, and despite my love/respect for them, they still messed me up! XD)
