When it comes to Star Wars characters I really enjoy drawing aliens and I had a lot of fun doing this one. She's a Miraluka Jedi Consular and part of a two character set I'm working on. It may still take a while for me to put together a background to stage the pair in an action scene. So I've decided to post both of them individually for now.Related content

This is such a great piece and not to be mean or anything but, the double-bladed lightsaber is only used by the sith....

There's plenty of canon supporting the use of the double saber on both sides. The idea that the weapon was only used by the Sith is based solely on the fact that Darth Maul was the first and only character in the movies to be shown using one. But the truth of it is that there are quite a few Jedi and Sith in the novels and comics who use the weapon. I believe by the time of Episode 1 and the appearance of Darth Maul, the fighting style was practiced far less or was even lost to the Jedi order which would explain why you don't see them used by anyone else in the movies.

Where did you come up with the design of her hair?

Well.. as I had mentioned before, I referenced a lot of Indian and Chinese designs for the outfit but I actually had a pretty strong idea of what I wanted the hair to look like going into the project. Padme Amidala had some crazy hair/head dresses and I wanted to do something similar. That character was the inspiration but the design was ultimately my own.

lol gotta be the "fat pants". In the original sketch work she was supposed to be in a dress but the stance ended up too wide so I removed the center and turned them into pants.

The Consular/Inquisitor outfits I've seen from Star Wars : The Old Republic put a pretty exotic twist on the traditional Jedi/Sith look. So I looked at Indian and Chinese clothing designs for inspiration when working on this character and I think she turned out pretty good.
