Description There actually is no such ting as a plain John Coltrane, but I did this in a matter of minutes using a .05 Pilot G-2 pen on a small sketchbook while riding in a car on the way to see a movie.

Before the cinema we had stopped by the local library, and I took out the 6-disc Trane boxset Fearless Leader, which is one of three box sets of Coltrane covering his Prestige records period.

The source image -which also is the cover to his album Traneing In- was in the liner notes/booklet. While I am not sure about the likeness, I do like the feel I achieved with the pen in a moving automobile.

I draw on the train to work.. But get annoyed as I like to be precise, I haven't yet thought about using it to my advantage..

Drawing in a car would make me car sick I fear!
