Description Well, I have dozens of ideas pouring into sketchbooks, napkin margins and in open spaces in course notebooks, but I have been very pressed for time to finish anything. So, I have resorted to grabbing things from the archives that I always meant to finish but didn't. This is another Mekanixa bio-mechanical thing that was largely done in 2004, but I didn't get around to finishing the penciols until last week while at a train station waiting to commute to University.

I named this one Estelle, and I haven't really thought of a good story about her, although I am sure something will come to me. And yes, her haiur is made of earphone jack cables.

pencil with some digital tweakery.

Estelle is the city librarian and guards the vaults that contain centuries of valuable data....with her spring assisted wedges (again with the wedges, too cool) she can leap to the highest catacombs to retrive requested tomes. Her corded hair snakes out to interface with city mainframe to constantly update the archives.

wicked... dig the glasses too.

Zeruch I in love with this series of drawings!!

Perhaps you could give me some pointers on drawing these things. I have a current assignment to do just what you have done and i am sinking. I never had to draw like this and i am having some difficulty deciding how to put them them together. Or, rather, what to put them together with.

any help is great!

What works for me may or may not work for anyone else. Basically I use source references for poses, and let that somewhat determine which portions remain humanoid and what gets exposed as bio-mechanical.

As to the mechanics themselves, I have an interest in steampunk and industrial design, so I have a large reference library built up of industrial objects, mechanical joints, machinery, equipment, etc.

I am also shamelessly attached to the works of Bill Sienkiewicz, Geof Darrow and Masamune Shorow, who all do mechanics staggeringly well.

thanks I will look into all of this. At least I do have the poses I want, i just need to figure out where to start splicing... and this is a traditional media project so I have my work cut out for me.
Thanks for the info

Is it possible to give yourself a DD?

Technically it is, but it is also very stupid

Wow! This is AMAZING stuff.

Thank you. The entire series has been fun to experiment with and there are many more in the pipeline.

From where you took inspiration to do stuff like this?

funny copper curly head with all the plugs she is arranging - good one - the gesture makes her human. but in my eyes the bodyshape i a bit to close to the reference. anyway - nice drawing again!

Thank you sir. I actually like a lot of the "steampunk" style of future by way of retro mechanics.

That's pretty cool. The background gives it a modern kind of feel. I like it.
