A 'bout of temporary sanity?

Seriously, my guess is that if you have watched me for any length of time, I go through periods where I deluge the site with submissions, and a lot of things just kind of cruise through largely unnoticed.

As an aside, your avatar reminded me I recently watched the Muppets episode with Peter Sellers. Good times, yo.

I quit "watching" people a long time ago. Shut down the deviation alert in my message center too because there was too much to look at all the time. I have a list of bookmarks and try to get all the way through it once a year - and since you are a 'z' you are at the end of the line. That still doesn't explain how I missed something from '04. I must be getting senile. Again.

What did You use for colorind the hair?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

zeruch In reply to soys [2006-04-05 09:03:08 +0000 UTC]

Probably gouache and tombo markers, with the white highlights done with acrylic ink.

Lovely picture Well done.

Acordian players always make me think of a woman I played with about a year ago called Sharn. She was tiny, with short blond hair, and was absolutely insane. Full of life and great fun to perform with. If she got over excited, she'd break out into scat or beat boxing at the top of her voice. Haha. Damn, I think I might have to track her down...

way cool - this is a trippin' perspective. It's not like "BAM IN YOUR FACE OMG HER FEET ARE PUNY AND HER HEAD'S HUGE!" but it's subtle and just barely noticeable and still wicked and tasteful yet with that extra spicy perspective spin.
Not to mention the inclusion of an accordian. That's like, 100 artistpoints right there alone.

Yer style reminds me of one of my fav artists, Ashley Wood. Like you, he can make a simple composition look amazing.

I like Ashley, but I am much more into Kent Williams and Bill Sienkiewicz (who are both influences on Wood)

varies largely from piece to piece. some it gets down to nothing but some basic color corrections and minor tweaks. others it can be catastrophic color torquing and general aesthetic mayhem.

Mostly it depends on my caffeine intake and what I have on the radio.

I like how you did the same colors with her earrings and in different shadows--like with her eyes and hands. It really ties the whole piece together.
