This photo is amazing. You truly captured a great scape with this shot.

It reminds me of the jurrasic, dinosaur ages. The mix of the colors give it that mysterious feel. I'm just waiting for a pterodactyl to fly across my screen now! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/sā€¦ " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)"/>

The fog and clouds in this is what sets this photograph. I don't think it would be the same if the clouds were not in this. Not to mention, it reminds me of smoke, coming out of a volcano that had just recently erupted.

I like that you also captured some of the trees below. The circle of trees gives it an even more magical feel.

This is fantasic.

Thanks a lot, Emily ! I have a similar feeling with this photo of strange and scary beast hidden in this mountain. Hence the title.

The weather was somewhat bad this week-end with very cloudy sky. We camped under snow. But it is very inspiring for photography. The atmosphere is more interesting than when this sun shines, more strange, sinister or melancholic.

Your welcome!

I really liked this photograph. That is quite lovely also. I like melancholic much better than sunny lol

All around a beautiful shot. A great landscape captured with a very interesting mood.

The scenery itself is very nice, a valley in the mountains surrounding by steep peaks.

The composition of the shot is very nice as well, my eye instantly lands on the light hitting the mountain to the right, then is drawn back through the valley taking in the whole scene back to the snow right to the illuminated peaks in the background.

What sets this shot apart though is the color scheme. The dark brownish/orange really gives this a dark moody feeling that seems to be offset slightly by the light falling on the rocks, giving it a nice balance. The clouds definitely help add to the mood.

Technically this shot seems very well done, it is a little dark in the valley, which could probably be brightened some (although it may affect the mood of the whole shot). The clouds are very nice except for a few spots that seem to have the highlights clipped, which would be the only real technical shortcoming I see.
