yeah, another pirate!This one's much more science fiction/steampunk.
Oh, and the way that the guns meant to work is that shots are entered like normal cartridges for a rifle, or en masse like a machine gun.
The crystal on the back is stuck by the needle, which powers a shot that gets added to the actual bullet (s)
Also, to make it the rifle, the barrel extension is added and the stock (I think that's the term for it) is extended and locked.

Technically, I'd say it looks more like a machine-pistol than a rifle, and adding an extension to the barrel wouldn't really change its designation, just act as a silencer and/or flash suppressor.
But yeah, about the actual art itself, good work on his design; the post isn't too interesting, but I have to love the giant lapels on his coat. In a strange way, the ornateness of his coat contrasts with the scummy looking headband and the practical, erm, "laser eye" (that's what I always call those types of things, anyway).
Interesting design on the gun, mainly on the odd needle extension; gives it a very alien look...
