Doctor Visit | i made this really painful on myself 😂 | Puckoo Tail
thing is, me n red-anteater have this one convo from several months ago about how our greengro met and i wanted to do a comic about it but ofc i never got around to it... UNTIL NOW!!! this seemed like a good opportunity to do a lil' flashback~ i found ways to make it quicker/easier to do since im a pro slacker B) for example i only had to draw Lettuce cuz i did the memories from Cactus's POV. and because memory, we don't need colour! yay for me haha
now i guess imma write the 300 word story. and tomorrow imma try and finish off the challenge before i gotta fly off to UK to play the new Final Fantasy game BB)

Lettuce had a knack for starting on the wrong foot with others.

Cactus had a knack for trying too hard to get a foot in.
But the two of them had become friends. That’s why Cactus was talking to Dr. F in the clinic, listening to Lettuce’s diagnosis. It was the Snitzer Fytz. A stew made of Frowny Root and Puckoo Tail would help her. Dr. F didn’t get a very good impression of Lettuce so Cactus was on his own in caring for her. Who could blame the doctor? He got stones chucked at him by a screaming wyngro. The illness she’d caught caused her great distress as it made her a hazard to her surroundings. Cactus had never seen her that upset before…
Fortunately, the doc had some Frowny Root in his storage so Cactus went to fetch some. Normally, Lettuce would show a dissatisfied face at seeing plants pulled from the ground and stored away, but she would have to suck it up this time.
Cactus walked into the dim storage room and picked up one of the Roots. What a peculiar plant. Yes, quite peculiar. Thinking back, he recalled that their friendship came from their interest in the peculiar. However, their first run-in didn’t exactly end well.
It was one of his early visits to Wynsiph, wasn’t it? Cactus spotted Lettuce in the surrounding forest, squatted over some rare flora. Being the friendly sort, he casually approached her and struck up a conversation. Ah, but he was an oblivious sort. Lettuce was mostly just tense and quizzical towards him, so that’s why she stayed as she absolutely had to know what the unknown wyngro was all about.
She didn’t count on him being such a blabber-mouth though. By the time Cactus stopped to catch his breath, Lettuce was already dozed off having been trapped in a still position for so long. Unbelievably rude, right? Cactus was slightly offended and woke her up. But that didn’t sit well with the lady wyngro and he was met with an onslaught of nonsensical ranting and anger. He tried to defend himself but, honestly, he wasn’t even sure what she was mad about anyway.
Cactus didn’t expect to have friendly encounters with her. She’s a difficult person.
It was some time later when he saw her again. This time hunched over in what seemed like an empty hillside, devoid of plant-life. Well, Cactus didn’t want to have bad blood with anyone. Being a good-natured sort, he went up to her and went about apologizing for whatever he did to bore and/or upset her.
The two wyngrew’s eyes fixed upon something just then. Cactus, who hadn’t learned magic yet, saw Lettuce using her skill in Earth magic to grow a sprout on this unfertile ground. Lettuce, who hadn’t yet gotten out of the country to explore, saw samples of foreign seeds attached to Cactus’s belongings.
WHAT IS THAT?!
Before either of them had realized, they had forgotten their first meeting and had already spent several hours talking about their different experiences.
Now, standing in Dr F’s storage, Cactus chuckled to himself. He hadn’t really thought about it much. They just went on like that – walking their own paths until they crossed again and they spent hours again sharing what they saw.
Will Lettuce eat stew? Cactus supposed he would have to convince her somehow. She has to get better soon so she can go out and learn many more things.
