Watched “A Friend in Need” recently and had to draw this. Though Ahsoka handled the situation like a total boss, I couldn’t help but theorize Rex’s reaction to some Separatist punk pulling a blaster on his Commander and friend.Poor Lux would have been incapacitated before he knew what hit him.
Character wise he’s fairly interesting if not a little impetuous, but apparently this kid’s supposed to be Ahsoka’s canon love interest…? Got nothing against Lux, (his earlier design with the ridiculously long neck was hilarious even if unintentional, willing to bet he’s part Kaminoan…) but if the two met I think Rex would assume the “disapproving friend/guardian” role if Anakin doesn’t beat him to it.

Imo I just can't appreciate Luxsoka. I feel like Ahsoka needs (and honestly would rather have) a more manly guy in her life. No offense to Lux, but he's not very manly. And besides, he totally had a thing for Steela in the Onderon arc.

And of the characters with strong, vested interests in Ahsoka's well-being, the purpose built soldier, who's a mere step below qualifying for a special forces designation and the kind of gunslinger guys like Han Solo would look up to is the less dangerous of the two.
I understand why, as a narrative thing, they introduced Lux as Ahsoka's 'official' love interest. Mainly it was to do a teen romance angle AND probably head the RexSoka shippers off at the pass, and having Lux be the son of a Separatist senator who was once friends with Padme Amidala is also a good angle to look at the shades of gray that make up The Clone Wars conflict. The CIS wasn't a dictatorship (in theory), it was just a new, smaller Republic of worlds and Lux as Ahsoka's window to that and foreshadowing her own trouble with attachments in much the same way her master has is a hook with dramatic merit.
Problem is that Lux Bonteri was written as a fucking twat.
Three major appearances, and his second one involves knowingly taking a Ahsoka to a camp run by a Mandalorian cult with a raging hate-bonder for the Jedi. It mystifies me that the little rat-bastard survived meeting Anakin and Rex after his bullshit behaviour there.
