Description True story.  

Karma decided to throw me for a loop the night before one of my illustration assignments was due, I suspect as a result of my putting it off so long.  Regardless, I improvised and had to make my previous progress match the different type of ink (from technical drawing pen to ballpoint) I had to use.  I swear, those super cheap BIC Crystal ballpoint pens are the AK-47s of the pen world - super effective and reliable in a pinch, not to mention they're capable of an infinite amount of textures.

I do love them.  I've always sketched in ballpoint pen, long as I can remember. In hindsight I think the sense of permanence helped me be more careful and precise when rendering.

I like them because of their control; they're like pencils to me. And they help me be more precise too

Oh my gosh I totally know that feeling of utmost despair! Especially when inking a completely black background. (I also am kinda procrastinating right now...been working on too many presentations and papers over the last weeks and the allure of dA couldn't keep me away. )
