Awwww! This is really sweet. On a side note, your scar work is phenomenal. Seriously, how on earth do you do it? Scars are up there with hands and ankles in difficulty level. And backgrounds, those are the bane of my existence.

Ah, scar tissue is kinda tricky because different areas of the body with different skin thickness tend to scar in different ways and it depends on the type of injury as well. Here it looks like he probably got some more shrapnel injuries, maybe the one on his chest from a gunshot or blaster bolt, so I looked up scarring from shrapnel, gunshot wounds, and burns, then made educated guesses based on that. Good reference and knowledge of how scars form and the healing process really helps. Didn't want to give him too many or put that much emphasis on them in this one but they're there alright.

I know, weird right? I draw a lot of horror and humor stuff - but from time to time I crack and draw fluff. I got a little tired of all the plot-heavy Overkill angst so I'm taking a short break from it in favor of this sort of thing.
To quote Marlin from Finding Nemo "It makes me feel...happy, which is a big thing for me."

Thank you so much! I do too, I wasn't sure about it at first though. Originally it was going to be set at night but that's a relatively typical "romantic" scenario and I didn't want the pic to be that heavy. I like this lighting better, much more breathing room for the eyes. Going for that warm summer afternoon feel, cheerful and full of vitality.

For names, I often go to baby-name websites and look by meaning, nationality, or just pick a random letter and find one that sounds cool. The phonebook can help too.

As far as names are concerned I checked out some baby-name websites and I've got a few now I kinda like. My favorite at the moment is "Malaika," Swahili for 'angel,' but I'm not sure yet. Still working on her personality at the moment. By her looks I'd wager she's pretty strong, confident, down to earth (eh...whatever planet they're on), a good foil for Headshot as he's more impulsive than logical at times.
