Does Overkill know about her injury and if not could you possibly make a comic strip that connects to 'Rise and Shine' like he walks in on her putting it on?

As of the 'Rise and Shine' page and the following panels it's unclear if Overkill knows or not. He becomes aware at some point, however the specifics of when and how will be revealed in later panels. The context would have to be either a voluntary revelation on Panya's part, or perhaps accidental as you've mentioned - it remains to be seen.
That said, for the space between "Rise and Shine" and the following "Coping Mechanisms" no, he would not have walked in like that, A) because most people knock before entering another person's quarters, B) he's aware that she's already done back-to-back shifts, so it's not like he'd go to disturb her for anything other than some kind of genuine emergency, C) he's also had multiple shifts, and in "Coping Mechanisms" he's also on a caffeine run. This indicates he's been occupied in the interim or is also an involuntarily light sleeper.

Some rambly stuff I've been pondering about this awesome design:
Panya lacks a knee on her left limb, but still has her right knee (if I remember correctly), and yet these are matching prostheses.Β So interesting!Β Earth medicine usually tries to preserve original joints on amputees when possible, because they work better than (external) prostheses.Β No such limitations in a galaxy far, far away, though.Β I can see the mentality being like: let's just make the new limbs match, even though the stumps aren't the same.Β It will be better!Β And maybe that's distressing for the patient?Β But maybe culturally most of them just think matching is better, too.Β In reality (haha, reality of star wars), I bet reactions vary between patients.
I can't help thinking Panya might not even be fully aware of what her own reaction to losing limbs has been - she seems to keep it all so bottled up.
Aaanywayy... I always like to see more about Panya and her stories, and liked seeing this design because Star Wars prostheses are interesting.

Thank you for your critique, I really appreciate the feedback! I understand and agree completely - she still retains the knee on her right leg.
The prosthesis for that side has the socket below the knee, though aesthetically it's intended to match the left one on the outside - so the upper portion and knee plates you see of the right limb are only for support/protection, like body armor beneath the clothing. The left is a socket on top, completely mechanical from the knee down. Both rely on vacuum suspension and have a sleeve worn beneath, respectively.Β
In hindsight, I should have done a view from the back, where you could see that the space behind the knee on the left has a rotating mechanical joint between plates, while the right has the fabric covering the back of her biological knee.Β Designing these was a bit tricky, trying to balance aesthetics with believable function and acceptable Star Wars logic (example: beskar not being a real metal, etc.) I apologize for any inaccuracies in this department, and I hope if any more occur you'll let me know. Thank you again for your input.
As far as character development is concerned, for better or for worse Panya isn't one to burden others with her troubles lightly.Β She doesn't see herself as particularly stoic or anything, she'd just rather avoid the subject and has adapted by developing an unassuming pokerface while in the public eye. As more of her backstory is revealed it may shed a bit of light on how she deals with everything.Β Β

Ah, I see all my vague ramblings were unclear after all....Β I was indeed assuming that Panya was still relying on her very own right knee, but it seems like a great in-universe design decision to still have her prostheses match, even though her amputation levels are different.Β That feels very not-earth, which is great to see for her.Β A posterior view of her legs would be interesting, just as you say - we'd see how the knee is constructed.Β That nifty calf piston we can see in the lateral view on the left leg is a great feature that provides some details on how these work.
My ramblings were also fueled by wondering whether every patient / doctor would make the same decision Panya did with her limbs.Β On earth, it would absolutely be the best decision to save an original joint wherever possible, but I'm not sure that logic would hold in a GFFA (and this is the kind of nerdy thing I speculate about because of some stories I'm writing), because sci-fi prosthetic technology has a very different logic.Β Luke's new right hand in ESB is super amazing, and the RepComm books have a few interesting commentaries on the culture of prosthetic limbs.
Okay... more aimless rambling!Β
I love your work andΒ characters, and always look forward to getting another piece of the story.

Ohhh man. As soon as I saw this pop up on my feed, I knew the answer to my question about who this was (even before I saw your reply). ;______;
If it makes her feel any better, those are the coolest robolegs I've ever seen. :'D I really like the plating on the ankle joint for some reason. Maybe if Anakin had a pair of these bad beskar boys, he wouldn't have gotten quite so rekt on Mustafar.

Thank you so much!Β Β
Anakin had it coming. For slaughtering that whole village after his mom perished - and for being such a whiny punk the entirety of Episode II...Β that "sand" monologue *shudders*...
I doubt even him wearing beskar'gam bucket to boots could have deflected that much karma.

Thank you so much! Inspired by Mando armor, among other things. The hard part now will be reproducing these consistently throughout the panels...

Consistency is a challenge but it makes things all the more interesting when sketching complicated pieces ^^
(Um, sorry about the lateness of my reply on Notes, I hadn't realised it had gone to my drafts instead of sending ^^'')

No problem. I think it had sent before, actually, as I got two copies of the same note in my inbox. I apologize for the delayed response on my end, haven't checked my note inbox as often as I should, I will send a reply shortly.

It did??? Aw man ... I'm sorry 'bout that! DA has a horrible habit of sending stuff but it shows up in my drafts instead of my outbox ^^''
No problem! Real life and other projects come first, take your time ^_^
