To say he'd had back luck with the other Ankuri would have been an understatement.

From one snide comment to another, to flat out being denied entry to certain spots of the hive, he'd more or less given up trying to look for answers when the shiny carapace of a robotic crab flashed in his field of vision.

She had never been his saint of choice, but the concept of addressing her directly still felt like a monumental obstacle. Then again... the worst she could say was the same as all the others.

"Uh.. Miss.. Nine?" Alesso was careful in his approach, holding an arm around the tote bag that held the captured nanites. "I'm aware this is a very selfish question, but... I figured... You all have a lot more knowledge about this than we ever have."

Lifting the jar lightly, he showed the swirling mass of nanites to the crabling before sliding the container back into the bag.

"Everyone in here talks of the AI as if they've all seen them around as some kind of commodity, but... No one has actually answered my question. You mentioned something about the technology when you were speaking about your... New body back at Paydo Moga, so... What are they? Do you know? What exactly am I sharing my body with? I just want to know. All I really know is that they're ancient made and that sometimes it makes me see things others can't but that's where it always ends."
