Description Arrrrrrrrrrgh my brains are dead now that this is ready.

This is a speedpaint I did for concept to my comic. I wanted to practice drawing sceneries but that didnt go too well, so I simplified it a bit and added aliens driving hoverbikes xD
Seems that random Xerognean has done something wrong since he is being followed by a police officer o3o;; maybe he stole that bike or was driving too fast. If you wonder what that thingie is that the officer is holding, it's a hologram projector which they use to transmit messages. At this time it says plainly STOP.
I may put some concept of the police aliens here soon, I like how they look. C: Now you cant see him cause the light is coming behind him.

No sketch, 14 layers, Photoshop Elements 7.0, five hours and a LOT of music.

Characters and crappeh art (c) aka me!

how hard is elements to learn? I am using photoshop CS2... it is a bear, but there are a lot of things you can do with it... if I need it I also have art rage which is a little $25 program you can get online... it is fun, and allows a lot more textures to the page and so on, but it isn't as fleshed out as Shop. Ie: It is much easier to learn and use, but there isn't as much you can do with it.

I know artrage, I used it before I figured how to download PS (both came along with my tablet)

Elements is not much different from CS, but I have to say that it's a program which is maybe slightly more tweaked towards photomanipulation than digital drawing. It contains a lot of effects and such that you can add to te picture, but the drawing tools are the same basic ones as in nearly every other PS.
Im still getting used to using it, although it's my first photoshop program so Im still a rookie.

lol... I have been working in CS2 for about 8 months now... and I am still so green you could use me for a St.Patties day decoration... lol. It takes a loooooong time to learn all the tricks...

cool... it is a little bit of a bear to learn... I get the feeling the older you are, the harder this is... but it is a wonderful tool to be sure... what kind of tablet are you using?

Im using bamboo fun pen & touch tablet. And yes, it seems that the older you get the harder it is to learn anything

LOL... some things for certain. I used the bamboo in town for a while till I got the Intuos for the last b-day... good little bit of equipment. Once you get enough income to upgrade, I would highly suggest it, but the bamboo is very nice. I will say that having the Large Intuos is a trip... my work area is the same size as my screen, literally, and so I have to make much larger strokes. It certainly makes it interesting, and for the most part, I like having the larger work surface because it allows me much finer detail control... not that I needed it when I got the tablet, but now, using the pen tool and inking the comic pages, it helps a ton.

Wow, it must be awesome to work with a tablet like that But I think that Im going to use my Bamboo until it kisses its technical butt goodbye xD I dont go to work yet and I have to save money for living when I go study after school. But I'll definitely keep your advice in mind C:

For sure, I completely understand... I started with a $35 tablet that was good enough, but it finally bit the dust and that was that... and my other half took pity on me and forked out $400 for the one I have now... Actually, you don't need a large, that is just the one I got for my birthday, the medium one is nice too, and once you get to saving your money up... you can get them on line through Wacom or from Ebay with a Student Discount. Just to keep in mind for when you get that far... all in all though, it should be a good long time before your tablet takes a crap on you... Bamboos are tough little things.
