Description In... well, not honor, but in acceptance to the fact that shark week is a thing, I present a rather calm portrait of Otodus megalodon.

I noticed that (even more so than other extinct predators) megalodon has an irritating habit of being reconstructed as a mindless killing machine that spent every minute of its life tearing whales in perpetually blood-soaked waters. The popular image of sharks as ravenous people-killers combined with the media's habit of representing prehistoric animals as real-life monsters has certainly hit our favorite 18 meter sharko hard.
So here's my more relaxed image of megalodon, cruising lazily through the water off the coast of someplaceorother.

The turtle is not any particular species, I mainly added it for a sense of scale. His name is Sir Terrence Bubbleton III. Β  Β

It's certainly refreshing to see a drawing of the shark just minding its own business and not killing anything. Nice work

Lamnid sharks are quite intelligent, complex animals (even when it comes to killing stuff).
