Description This would be my two dragons on my car.
Livezzenvivixius is the bigger pearly white beauty.
Illius is the smaller pitch black cutie.

What powermonger dragon wouldn't love this car?

Livezzenvivixius: Gotta love this big dragon decal!

Illius: I like how this person's a Narutard

Livezzenvivixius: And a Transformers fan, judging that the car is an Autobot.

Illius: ZOMG! Did you see the skully antenna?

Livezzenvivixius: Do you know what this spoiler deck says?

Illius: FUG YEAH!!! I WUV MEAT!

Livezzenvivixius: Wanna go eat that bunny in the yard?

Illius: *ZOOMGONE*

Livezzenvivixius:

Brought to you by Zhon!
*NOTE: I did not make these dragons, they were adopted from the Imaginarium.

Enjoy!

Yeah! Woodbabies are made my the Midsummers Knight's Dream (actually, the artist is here on DA), The Drabbits (these two) come from Imaginarium Galleries.

Oh, when you go to the Renaissance Faire, there's a place called the "Imaginarium" (imaginariumgalleries.com) and it's run sortof like an adoption center according to them. Pay to take them home!

Ianflowforever In reply to Zhon [2011-02-22 05:19:41 +0000 UTC]

That makes sense.
I love how the roleplaying is so intense at renfairs.
If I go this year to the arizona fair (currently in progress), it'll be my first renfair, and possibly first drabbit.
Good news!
The imaginarium is actually at the ren fair, but I don't know if it's the entire fair!

Haha, what was that white dragon's name in the Littlest Dragonrider?

Ianflowforever In reply to Zhon [2011-02-22 05:18:17 +0000 UTC]

I don't remember.
I don't think that was the name of the one. I think it was simply the White Dragon (for the dragonriders of pern series book with the white dragon on the cover).
I loved the series.

I've seen some great bumper-stickers at Rennaisance Faires, including: 'Caution, attack dragon in the backseat'

Oh what if somebody had that sticker and you looked in the backseat and there was a sleeping baby dragon? HAhahahahaha that would be cool

Oh and I LOVE drabbits I have one and we got a HUGE discount on it at the NY renfair- my most favorite place ever! They're not really too picky about their prices- I got a $20 sword for $10 after some negotiation.

I love drabbits too. ^^ Not quite as much as my sister, though. Hahaha. We recently inherited a couple of baby ones from a family friend who's kids didn't want them anymore.

Wow, really? See, this is why I want to know more people who love drabbits.

Not just because I would get some if they didn't want them(although that would be cool), but also because I would just like to talk about them. I'd show you a picture of Windwalker, my drabbit, but I don't have a CAMERA.

so ill show you when I get one.

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

FrostaMcCloud [2008-10-28 03:20:04 +0000 UTC]

I like how your drabbits work but I do prefer my woodbabies in comparison to some of the ones Alfaro makes. I really like my new Golden Dragon that is flaked with fake gold to make him really sparkle.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Zhon In reply to FrostaMcCloud [2008-10-28 11:58:01 +0000 UTC]

Haha, yeah, Woodbabies tend to have more of an ethereal look to them. Like they should twinkle pixie dust everywhere when they fly. (Whereas the Alfaro dragons tend to be more on a real plane, some can look really disgusting!)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

FrostaMcCloud In reply to Zhon [2008-10-29 01:44:14 +0000 UTC]

It seems when I first saw Drabbits I didn't get the connection that I do with the woodbabies. IMO Woodbabies tend to have a individual personality while I didn't get this feeling from the Drabbits

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Zhon In reply to FrostaMcCloud [2008-10-29 01:49:27 +0000 UTC]

Really? Cause I was kindof the opposite.
Granted both artists are super talented and every piece is different. I dunno what made me love the drabits more.... perhapps the fact they have so much scale/face detail.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

FrostaMcCloud In reply to Zhon [2008-10-29 03:08:05 +0000 UTC]

MSKD is adding more details to the face. But, you can always have anything done to a woodbaby. Have you ever seen one in person? I know someone that had snakes added on to the face and legs. My Lina woodbaby is a crystal woodbaby that has flames painted on her.

I am glad that you like both artists. So many people just turn away from woodbabies due to some things that are not true that are stated. Most people don't know that they are separate companies.

I would still like to know what Alfaro's puppets are made up. I say something about super scuplty clay. But I have worked with that stuff and I can tell that his puppets don't have that texture to them. Plus scuplty clay is so much more breakable, since I have done that before with dropping pieces I have made. DO'H!

Zhon In reply to FrostaMcCloud [2008-10-29 05:09:19 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I have seen the vender here in the CO Ren. Faires.
I have been up close to them, but the dragons for some reason don't quite click for me....
I DO however LOVE their gryphons! I may get one at the next Faire!

Some people thought the two companies owned each other because one of them (I think Alfaro) has a patent on the mechanics. (but how can you patent a bicycle brake cable or spedometer cable?...)

Alfaro definately uses Fimo or Super Sculpey. They all have a polymer smell to them and I've seen burned bits of them. They superglue back together really well!

I've been making up my own personal ones out of Magic Sculpt taxidermy clay (10x more durable than Sculpey). I did bring one to a Ren. Faire where Alfaro had seen it (Angel my Chinese Snow Dragon) and I remember him liking it, however I couldn't sell them due to his patent... (again.. I just used a brake cable)

FrostaMcCloud In reply to Zhon [2008-10-30 02:54:44 +0000 UTC]

I would look up his patent if I were you. You will find something very interesting about it. Just go to the US patent website to find it.

If you still can't find what I am talking about just let me know.

Awesome car, and cute Drabbits!

I'm wanting to buy one, but I'll admit I'm curious about their durability, since they're not exactly pocket change.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Zhon In reply to SteelWing [2008-10-13 12:15:12 +0000 UTC]

XD

They are actually quite durable. Made from solid super sculpey. I've only chipped one maybe twice, but they are easily repaired.
They are indeed overpriced, but what could you expect from a person who used to work for Jim Henson Studios.

FrostaMcCloud In reply to Zhon [2008-10-28 03:17:43 +0000 UTC]

Just wanted to let you know that he hasn't worked for Jim Henson Studios. In fact he was kicked out of a museum for Jim Henson by his daughter for saying that.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Zhon In reply to FrostaMcCloud [2008-10-28 12:00:54 +0000 UTC]

Really? I was pretty sure he did.... maybe I read that on is webpage or saw that clip on Oprah with him in it that made me think that.
He seemed to have a lot of the Jim Henson stuff in his little museum too... hmmmm...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

FrostaMcCloud In reply to Zhon [2008-10-29 01:40:51 +0000 UTC]

He actually buys Jim Henson stuff off eBay for his museum. I did follow up with my friend who actually talked to Jim Henson's daughter about the whole thing when he visited the puppetry center in Atlanta, GA.

SteelWing In reply to Zhon [2008-10-13 19:51:32 +0000 UTC]

Thanks for your response!

I was impressed when I saw them in person - (yesterday at a Ren faire), but I wanted to do a little 'research' before I dropped the cash.

I don't mind paying good money for something hand-made with care since it's like a work of art, but I Just wanted to make sure my Drabbit would be able to come on lots of my future 'adventures.'

I knew the artist was famous, but I didn't realize he worked for Jim Henson Studios! Now that would explain something of the price. XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

FrostaMcCloud In reply to SteelWing [2008-10-28 03:18:43 +0000 UTC]

He never worked for Jim Henson Studios just to let you know. I found out at the PA faire that was a lie from one of the vendors that he says.

They are really cool-looking! I could spend hours in the shop just looking at their faces. I'm super picky with mine when I choose one, and there's just so many!!!

These two drabits have been with me for years now. The White one is 5 years old, and the black one is going on 3 years old.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SteelWing In reply to Zhon [2008-10-14 03:39:57 +0000 UTC]

I am the same - I spent a good hour at least looking carefully at all of the details, but mostly the faces. I tend to be picky with my dragons, so I'm not sure if I'd choose a Drabbit over the Gryphon I've got my eye on, but next Saturday will be an exciting day for me, since one will DEFINITELY be coming home with me.

Thanks for your input. I look forward to having mine for many years to come (perhaps I'll even add another one in a few years, if I really enjoy my first as much as I think I will.) I'll be sure to link you to whatever picture I post once I've got it. ^^

Cool! I'd love to see pictures of your adopted fluffy dood!!!!

Does the Ren Faire near you have a large Imaginarium of drabits and alike? Ever see those OH MY GAWD sized ones that are closed to $1,500? That's my goal someday!!! I just want a BIG shoulder clinger!

Best of luck!

SteelWing In reply to Zhon [2008-10-15 02:49:53 +0000 UTC]

Oh, yes. There was a section towards the back right in the store that was roped off where the really HUGE drabbits were. I didn't look at them much, since it'd be something I couldn't afford for years, but what I did see - my gosh, they were detailed and gorgeous. <3

Thanks for all of your help. ^^
